We are currently waiting for the final remodeling and renovations of our home or apartment to be completed. We have been 'temporarily evicted' until it's done. We have stated at two different Motel 6's in the Ogden area for over the last month! My husband and I are very pleased with this Motel or Studio 6.. the big, spacious and clean motel or hotel room. We stayed previously at a Motel 6 on Washington Blvd and it was not that great, that one was dirty, cramped, weird and homeless people over there, people on parole, drug addicts.
This Studio 6 out here on 2100 S is very nice and my husband and I are very pleased. We love the big spacious king size bed, the full fridge, the microwave, having two TVs, a comfortable sofa, a very clean bathroom with shower and bath and a stove. This is very accommodating and comfortable too because I'm also recovering from a medical procedure.
And it's really nice to have a Motel or hotel room that has a kitchenette. We love Denny's and eating out and we have picked up food in the Flying J Store, it's also very nice to eat and cook in the kitchenette,it saves a lot of money!
The management is very nice and has been very accommodating to us. We appreciate all of their help to us. We also have three precious cats who definitely need us and they aren't used to moving and traveling around. They seemed to have adjusted well to the large, spacious room and the king size bed! As for the location, it's a little out of the way from being directly in Ogden but not too much of a problem.
This Studio 6 is located at the Flying J Travel Center. This is a truck stop. I love big trucks and rigs and I applaud all the great men and women being OTR long and short haul drivers and keeping America going! They are awesome! This is a truck stop and many of these rigs have refrigerators and have to keep the fridge motors on and yes they can be loud. These rigs are carrying food like chicken or foods that have to be kept refrigerated or frozen that go to your grocery stores and restaurants, etc. And if those motors get turned off all that food could go bad and spoil and that's a huge loss!
I used to have a CDL several years ago and I can tell you those motors have to stay one when it comes to refrigerated and frozen foods. The safety of humans who consume those products is of the utmost priority! I care much more about the safety of the food these amazing trucks are carrying than the noise level.
So please, understand if the noise bothers you, I do get it and it's understandable please get some ear plugs. My husband uses ear plugs when he goes to sleep and hears nothing! Lol Or just do your research better and don't stay at a truck stop!
Also, those semis and rigs are moving in and out all the time. These OTR they work hard. This is their job. They have a schedule to keep. They have to keep a log of the work and keep track of their times for pick ups or loading, drop offs or deliveries or unloading on time so they may leave maybe in the middle of the night or in early morning and the truck engines make noise. Again, about the noise situation I get it. This is a truck stop and if the noise is the problem don't stay here at a truck stop. If you do stay here get some ear plugs to help you.
I myself am just fine hearing these trucks they don't bother me at all. Finally, this location does allow and accept pets including loud, barking dogs. Dogs don't bother me either. People tend to be much more of an annoyance than big rigs and loud big, barking dogs! Lol If the dogs making noise is a problem, I get that too, then get yourself some earplugs or chose a different place to stay. Do your research better if you have issues with these things.
In the future, if my husband and I need a place to stay we will come back! Thank You very much...
Read moreI booked three nights at this Motel 6 so that I could visit my terminally I'll cousin and her family. Although the staff the first night were nice and accomadating and the room was set up well with microwave, TV, and fridge and at first I was fine with my room despite all the parking lot construction going on in front and below of my second floor room my stay ended up being one inconvenience after another. I put $1.50 in the vending machine for a Pepsi but the Pepsi was sold out. I tried each of the other options and they were all sold out at well. The change button didn't work. I went to front desk and they put a note on my hard copy paintwork for the $1.50. ( when I checked out I was told the hotel wouldn't refund me the $1.50 and they'd have to check with the vending machine operator). I have no idea if I will get a refund. When I returned to my room after trying to get the refund that first day, my e try card didn't work. A maintenance person tried it and then used his master card key to get me in. I went back down to get two new cards. Only one worked. I went to try the coke mackine which worked and when I returned to my room my card did not work. I tried a number times using all the adviserdmethids but it didn't work. I went back down and got two new key cards. My aunt picked me up and when I returned to my room that evening I found my toilet didn't flush. I recalled that the man in the room directly below had been in the office asking for a plunger when I checked in. I was concerned that the toilet would overflow and it was late so I used the ice bucket to pour water into the toilet bowl to get it to semi flush. The next morning I called the office to asked fir the toilet to be fixed. The staff person said it would be fixed. I also left the maintenance needed card on the toilet seat with a note. I got a coke from the vexing ma hive to put in the fridge for when I got back and my key card did not work again. The woman in the office the second day was curt to the other customer and then someone curt with me. She did go over all the ways to correctly use the card which I already knew but I thanked her regardless. I tried not key cards and only one worked so I went back down to get another card. I left the room at 10 am. When I returned late that night I was very surprised to see that housekeeping had not attended to the room and the toilet not fixed. Also the vanity only had one build working out of the three so the area was poorly lit. More issues...
Read moreThree terrible experiences here. 1- we had been driving for quite awhile and went to get a place to sleep, the guy there was grumpy and mean and got after us “kids” the youngest was 18, saying he didn’t wanna give us a room cuz he knew we would cause him trouble and made us put down an extra deposit Incase we did anything. In the morning we were checking out and A lady only gave us part of our deposit back because she said he put in 2 people for our 2 bedroom instead of 4 and told us to “not even try lying about it because she went and was watching our camera footage from all night and saw 4 of us go in. We told her we said 4 and that’s what we tried booking online but it didn’t work so we just came in. Still she told us that it was like 60$ more for the 2 extra people and told us to get out. 2-my friend came into town and was staying there for a week and a half cuz it was cheap. Honestly wish we would’ve paid just a little more a night to go anywhere but there. We helped him carry up his bags, it was evening but not super late and the same lady from last time came running up the stairs and banged on the door and yelled at us cuz “people are trying to work down there and we don’t have the decency of trying to be quiet” we had only been there for 5 minutes and had just barely gotten his stuff up. We apologize and said we were just taking things upstairs. Then she yelled at us again saying that only 2 people were paid for so the rest of us had to leave now or she’d be charging more to my friends charge for us being there even though we had just taken his stuff up. 3- this was the last straw. I went to go stay there because my friend were there and we were gonna go out for one of there birthdays and wanted to be able to come back somewhere close and just go asleep instead of taking a longer drive because we were sure we’d be tired. The same lady from before was there, I went to check in and she told me to give her 100$ cash deposit because she didn’t trust me Since I was young. I told her I didn’t have $100 cash but I did on my card and asked why she didn’t make my friend do that when they checked in. All so told me was if I have a problem and don’t have the cash I can leave cuz she doesn’t allow riff raff at the hotel. We left and got a much nicer hotel in Ogden and that’s where we will be going for now on. Don’t go here it’s not...
