I had an advantage from my friends and family who I traveled with because I read reviews before arriving and my expectations were very low, while my friends were disappointed. I was happy because there were no bugs.
We had 3 rooms.
All 3 of our rooms were bed bug free to my knowledge. I was very concerned about this before hand and thoroughly examined the beds before bringing my luggage inside. There was no evidence of bed bugs in the 3 rooms we stayed in.
Mold on one bathroom near ceiling in shower, one bathroom walls was very dirty, lampshade broken, burnefd and dirty curtains that do not clamp shut, the mini toilet paper roll was interesting. I suppose they don't give large rolls because they don't want people to take them but 4 people per room for 5 days made us have to do frequent trips to front desk to ask for towels, soap, and toilet paper. If we asked housekeeping they'd ask for it room number. When we were getting a roll of toilet paper from housekeeping, they were glad that we picked up the roll of toilet paper where the cameras saw is, “Good, where you are standing the cameras can see you take [the toilet paper from the cart]“ which leads me to believe that maybe there was a staff issue at one time and now management doesn't trust housekeeping and micromanage them. The rooms l had a lot of wear and tear but I'm at the Super 8 in West Plains and not the 4 Seasons in Maui. My door was difficult to open but I discovered a trick to turn the handle up instead of down as expected. The breakfast was coffee, juice, and a choice of 2 cereals, and no milk. My bedside lamp was missing a lightbulb so that meant another trip down to the front desk. The bathroom rolled floor was sticky but good thing I brought house shoes with me, so they stuck to the floor when I walked. It was cool though because it reminded me of a bar floor in college. The walls were thin and I heard a lot of noise from upstairs starting at 630am as well as door slams and talking in the hall.
The price was GREAT especially for eclipse weekend and most importantly there...
Read moreThis place was a sorry excuse for a hotel! Placed 4 people in a one queen size room and then looked upset when I asked for a roll away. Service ranks with the worst service I have ever encountered. Breakfast is a waffle maker and cereal, that's it! Business center is an out dated computer and u found the printer to be unplugged and the USB cable missing therefore it was unusable. I asked the maintenance man there who was using the computer, making me the guest wait on him, why was this not checked and he said well someone has to bring it to our attention first. I said no sir. It is the hotel's staff to make sure this hotel is running efficiently during all times. I then asked one of the house keeping staff where the general manager was and she stated that she had to went home, it was only 1015. When I asked why she stated that her son stuck his finger in a fan. I asked was it a metal one? She said oh no! Nothing like that! So I'm thinking then why did she have to leave this hotel then? Of course if this was my hotel I won't want to be seen here either! I speak from experience, I manage 1200 properties, I'm not an average upset customer, I'm in the industry and general managers like this one give us all a...
Read moreI was very disappointed, the staff was great their service was great people were nice. I picked this location because it appeared newly updated and clean. It was Cleanish! I used to clean rooms and I should not find stray hairs in the shower nor should a newly renovated hotel have cracked and pealing tub/showers but this one did. The bed screeched with every movement and was as hard as the floor. The carpets needed a good vacuum. The breakfast was lacking in variety having pretty much only biscuits and gravy, pancakes, cereal and yogurt with the B&G being served barely room temperature! The plug for the lamp and in room coffee pot was apparently not working as I could not use the lamp or the coffee pot where it sat. I moved it to the night stand. I had assumed when trying to turn on the lamp they previous night while trying to eat my dinner that the bulb was simply out but nothing plugged in there worked I found the next morning trying to get much needed coffee made. They should have put the reno money toward updating the electrical and beds and showers instead of slapping make up on a dump with new carpet, paint and artwork that does nothing for the Guest actual stay in their hotel! 2 stars are...
