Diamond Head Restaurant — Restaurant in West Plains

We haven't eaten at a buffet since covid, but we finally decided to take the buffet plunge. This place was very clean and staff was wearing masks. Clean plate procedure was clearly marked and arrows indicting which direction to walk was also well defined. I honestly felt more comfortable than I was anticipating. Food was delicious and staff friendly. Egg rolls & crab rangoons are, to me, best in town. I did wish they had a bit more sushi to choose from, but what they had was decent. The folks who worked there were very nice. The restaurant was clean. The buffet food was not good, however. It wasn’t hot. It was bland, and tasted a bit off, not fresh. As one reviewer noted, it didn’t taste any better than what one might get from the frozen food section of your grocery store. It wasn’t all bad though. The fountain soft drinks were okay.

Make sure to save your fork, because there aren’t any set out. I suppose I could have asked for one, but I wasn’t planning on having any more food. Was actually surprised to see the changes made with the new buffet and interior but was very disappointed with the food.... it was cold mostly and the warmers were not up to temp... we pointed it out but nothing was done.... food was mislabeled so I ended up with coconut shrimp instead of chicken... it was ok I just don't care for shrimp....
