Jimmies Walleye & Catfish — Restaurant in West Plains

My grandson and I ate there for the first time. He got the all you could eat shrimp, walleye, catfish. I got the catfish. The beans were okay, lacked seasoning, lukewarm. The baked potato was not very warm. The coleslaw was okay. The hush puppies were very dense and also not warm. The fish...it was terrible! It was lukewarm and had a horrible taste. I don't know if it was old, rancid grease or what. The temp of all the food was off. Nothing came out hot, not even the fried fish. My grandson didn't like it either. He didn't ask for seconds or even finish what was on his plate. He said the shrimp, walleye and catfish all had a bad after taste. We got a to go box for the pets. His uncle tried a piece of the leftover fish and comme Ted on the weird taste as well. I will never go back. I wasted $40 bucks to be dissatisfied and...

Sadly this was my first time here, I ordered a shrimp basket with 3 pieces of Walleye, the waitress was very friendly and helpful however the shrimp was cooked too long and was very hard, the Walleye which is cooked to order was 1 piece short I received 2 of the 3 pieces of fish, it was very thin and very tough with very small pieces of spiney bone. I will note that one is I got there nearly at closing which could have played a role in the quality of food,although it shouldn't have and I will add also that my order was to go. I will say also that you get a large quantity of food, on the plus side the French Fries were awesome. I give only 2 stars because of the quality of food but I will likely give it another try earlier in the day to see if that makes a difference if it does I will evaluate and make corrections...

No way I would have decided to stop here without seeing the reviews on Google Maps. The building is worn out and the parking lot is even worse. 😂

But the wait staff make you feel like you’re a regular - a local, if you will. We got here late in the evening so all or nearly all of the listed desserts were already gone. And a couple of the sides were also sold out. But we arrived well after the “normal” dinner time, so it was to be expected.

Since breakfast is available all day, that’s nearly always my choice. My omelette was made to order, hot, and tasty. Hash browns were solid too. My buddy opted for the 5 piece catfish special - which was a ridiculously good deal and way too much food! Oh… we got an order of the cheese curds too - super yummy!

I’d totally go back here if I was ever in...
