Update: after claiming they would refund me a portion of my bill, they actually double charged me even more when I was reviewing my credit card statement and I had to call to get that corrected. Original: There were many great things about my stay. First, the free transportation from the airport was one of my reasons for choosing this hotel and that didn't disappoint. Despite not having a driver when I got in around 2am, the hotel dispatched a taxi for me free of charge. Second, the hotel was a decent value for the amenities like the free breakfast. I also appreciated the checkout time was 12pm, later than what I'm used to. Unfortunately, I have to knock off some stars because cleanliness is a key fundamental and there were multiple problems. First, there was a small stain on the sheets, but more significantly what looked like blood stains on the curtains. When I reported to management the next morning (I got in super late and just wanted to crash), they were very apologetic and gave me a discount on my stay. However, it never should have got to that point to begin with if the rooms were properly inspected first.

Business trip to Sacramento during the middle of the week. Check-in was about what to expect. There is nothing to note here. I was put on the first floor near an exit, which was helpful for me since I had to park around the back of the facility. At first, walk through the rooms are well laid out and large. The rooms are definitely dated, and there are outlets and lights that show significant wear and tear. Bed was OK, not the worst I've dealt with. The room was fairly clean, including the bathroom. Towels were OK and in decent shape. Checkout was quick, and I had my emailed receipt within minutes of checking out. The biggest frustration is getting to the hotel off El Camino, odd left hand turn, and traffic coming from the north doesn't have to stop. In addition to that, each evening, when I returned from business for the day, the parking lot was completely packed up front, so you are forced to park in the back. This place seems to be a happening place to hang for stray cats. Some homeless people are nearby.

This is my first time to stay at this hotel. The location is convenient in Sacramento off the highway, it had a shuttle from the airport that took 45 minutes to arrive to pick me up (they said it'd be 15-20 minutes), safe shuttle drive, easy check-in, competent employees at the front desk, fairly nice entrance and main lobby, hallways on my floor were rather narrow, room was okay, but kind of small and cramped feeling with the bathroom door almost opening to the front door & had to be stopped to stay open, nice beds, many comfortable pillows, did not smell bad, big widescreen TV that I didn't use, poor lighting that wasn't placed well around the room, nice desk, big suitcase platform for a big suitcase, and free/weak WiFi.

Congratulations if you're checking TripAdvisor before booking this hotel. I am about to save you a lot of frustration if you intend to rely on the hotel for any kind of shuttle service or expect a quality experience from the Marriott brand. I stayed at this property one week ago on an overnight layover, booking the property for its location close the airport and marketed 24hr shuttle service. Upon my arrival and collecitng my bags I called the hotel to arrange for transportation and was told a "taxi" was coming to pick me up called "CityCab" within "30 minutes." As the hotel wasn't nearly that far away from the airport it was a little frustrating but alas I waited in the center median as instructed. ||Finally, after 25 minutes I received a call to my cell phone from a male with a limited ability to communicate that kept hanging up saying "he was here" and that I needed to "hurry up!" After three return phone calls I ascertained the cab was conducting its pickups on the opposite island to my airline (no door numbers were provided). The driver was incredibly rude over the ride and the mini van was not large enough for everyone's luggage so I held my 50lb suitcase on my lap. ||Upon arrival at the property I reserved my morning ride back to the airport at 7am (more on this in a moment) and completed check in. Check-in itself was efficient but as I complete my expense report I've seen they charged the wrong credit card. Perhaps the reason for this is a result of my request for them to let me borrow a wine bottle opener at check-in. ||Due to theft in the area they don't allow their wine bottle opener to leave the desk area. As a result, the desk agent was nice enough to offer to open my bottle for me. Unfortunately, the bottle opener wasn't the best and the agent went at the bottle with a particular "death grip" that was not going to work. As a result, he shattered my wine all over his front desk area, cutting himself in the process and spilling wine on everything from paperwork to his computer etc. ||Hotel theft seems to be a constant concern for this property so if you're looking for an elevated experience I'd stay elsewhere. The TV and furniture is bolted down and there are fewer amenities in the room than Fairfield usually caries (little things like lotion, pen and stationary, etc). It's clear this is a very cost conscious owner that is not concerned with guest satisfaction one bit. ||The shuttle back to the airport did not arrive at 7am due to some miscommunication. Fortunately, it did arrive at 7:15am and I made it to the airport as my flight was boarding - not the best for Southwest as I got stuck in a middle seat but I did at least make my flight (I have CLEAR so those 15 minutes mean a lot to me as a business traveler). ||Again, I'd look elsewhere if you value safety, customer service, or need reliable transportation. The bed itself was quite comfortable and the room was clean despite the property being very dated (I am Titanium Elite so if they are giving me a room showing signs of wear they will probably give the average customer a room in even...

Security and safety is a huge concern. As a single female, I would NEVER stay here again and am surprised at the shockling good reviews. I pulled up to find adult men drinking in the parking lot. This hotel is next to a truck stop and clearly saw woman walking around looking for business. It is also located next to a Motel 8. The parking lot is poorly lit so you can imagine how terrified I was when I went to my car at 4 am in the pitch dark to find the car next to me with men in it talking to one another. In other reviews the manager claims they have staff patrolling the parking lot. Staff doesn't work you need paid security; the hotel is clearly putting staff at risk as I know they are not trained to handle these type of items. Regardless, the men should have been asked to leave. I didn't observe any security at this hotel nor is the lighting as great as the manager will claim in his response. The manager is clearly a male and doesn't understand. I also read the response from the manager about how Sacramento has its fair share of crime, but that's no excuse for not providing adequate safety. Also, it is common in reviews for housekeeping to not clean the bathtubs. There was hair clearly visible in my tub. You would think after multiple reviews over the past years about hair in the tub management would recitfy the issue, but again management clearly doesn't care. In the end, I would not recommend staying here just for pure safety concerns and then...

I will not stay at a Fairfield again. They were very nice about early checkin and promised the shuttle would come get me when I returned the car at the airport. They never told me it would be a cab as the shuttle driver didn't show up for work. So I waited at the car terminal while a cab driver yelled at me across a median - I could not understand a word he said. Finally sorted it out and got back to the hotel. Which then lost power (not their fault - it was a utility co outage) but the hotel offered NO ASSISTANCE - the staff simply ran downstairs, providing no info, no help. One cannot leave the room as reentry without electricity would be impossible. As darkness approached, I had no choice but to pack up and carry luggage down three flights of dark stairs NO ASSISTANCE OR INFO. (Also I was told that the shuttle at 4am was 'probably ok' as they would not be sure the driver would show up for work until 11PM?????? REALLY?). I found a different hotel that had power AND an actual operating airport shuttle. I was amazed this was a MARRIOT (and BTW, the room was not fully cleaned). ||Awful experience. I will not stay at any Fairfield again and I'm not too sure about...
