The 49er Pilot Dealer is the only true big truck stop in the Sacramento area, so it’s an important stop—but it comes with both perks and headaches. On the plus side, there’s a CAT scale, lots of paid controlled parking (much safer than wide-open lots), and fuel perks include free parking with a purchase. First four hours are free, which is convenient for a quick break before heading toward the Bay Area. The truck stop side has hot food ready to go, with solid soups and seasonal snacks, and the diner attached to the building is newly remodeled with really good food options. šŸ’¢Bathrooms were clean, but oddly there’s only a men’s bathroom on the trucker side—which doesn’t make much sense since women drive too.šŸ™ƒ They do have some unique extras like a bring-a-book/take-a-book library, a lounge, and a ā€œsmoking caveā€ (though it’s more cigar sales than an actual smoking area). Unfortunately, the lounge and amenities feel overly controlled, almost like they’re doing you a favor by letting you in. Showers are CDL-only, and they don’t allow team showers, which is a letdown for driving partners. 😳 The fuel islands are tight, and pumps are often down, which slows things up. It is a Pilot dealer, so you can earn points on fuel and use them for showers, but you can’t use them to purchase anything else. They do have laundry, a sleeping motel, lounge, truck shop, truck wash, and basic amenities. Souvenirs like T-shirts are way overpriced for basic prints, which is disappointing. Overall, the staff is friendly enough but comes off indifferent, and the whole place gives off a vibe of ā€œwe’ll give you what you need, but don’t expect more.ā€ Still, with the remodeled diner, hot food, controlled parking, and location, the 49er remains a stop we need—even if they lean heavily on being the only big option in Sacramento.

I usually come here at least twice a month and it’s always exceptional clean but this morning I go in there and there’s this skinny guy with glasses cleaning the bathroom. She take me to shower number one and there’s piss on the toilet and dirt on the back of the toilet I say something to him he gets the woman upfront and she’s Hella rude to me too, and says she don’t see a problem with anything in the bathroom so they put me in a second Shower I go in there and there is hair everywhere all over the sink so then I say something and they get rude with me like it’s my fault that there’s hair everywhere and they say one or two is all you get so I show him his hair that he never cleaned up and he takes me to a third shower which has hair all over the sink but not as bad as shower number two so then I say something and I asked for the managerā€˜s name and number they tell me that she’s gonna be in within 15 minutes and I wait I go back in the manager approaches me with an attitude, tries to tell me that I’m under the influence and tells me that I put the hair there and she was not looking at my pictures and she wanted me to get off of premises Very rude unprofessional. They must like hair they’re disgusting. Something needs to be done about this fast. I have pictures to prove it.

If I could give ZERO stars I definitely would!! This place apparently has a homeless or criminal issue and feels the need to treat EVERYONE like a criminal. At midnight their security company drove thru both the customer parking lot and the big truck parking setting off sirens and speaking via loud system to vacate the property immediately and threatening removal or arrest to anyone sleeping in a vehicle to include Bobtail trucks not in a big truck parking spot. They do not offer spots for 1 Ton trucks, box trucks, or professional drivers that are not in a Big Rig/trailer set up. They had a truck surrounded by 6 private security people dressed in tactical gear and 2 vehicles. This seems excessive and It seems they should be handling the actual problem and not harassing professional drivers who are required by the Federal Govt to take rest breaks. It's unfortunate for Pilot/Flying J who typically cater to professional drivers have opted to partner with this company, security group, and policies that negatively impact professional drivers. We personally will not return here or put our hard earned money into this establishment.

WHERE TO START??? I drive volvo car hauler for 8 cars, and came at 11.18pm, find the last available spot for my semi, unload one car, and try to drive out at 11.30pm ( my customer waiting outside). Last time(7-8 months ago) it wasn't a problem. I parked small car close to gate and go inside to ask them open the gate. They told me that they could not open it unless I load this car, back on my trailer and get out with my truck, drop it, and drive back. I told them that I don't want miss my spot, because it was the last one, and I'm ready to pay for small car 15$. Old lady on the front said its impossible and that i need to pay 50$ for them to open the gate. They were very rude, the old guy from shop(i guess he is a mechanic), and the second old lady also rude. They start telling me how other car carrier drivers go in and out. (I'M NOT OTHERS)So the owners came to this BRILLIANT solution. After I go to drive my truck to the gate, to load this car back on my trailer only to find out to security with the guns trying to explain my customer something. I just load small car, open the gate for free, drop it and move back. Of course I lost my spot. But I made 50$ for tips from my client. He told me he was trying pay them 20$ to open this damn gate. But they refuse take the money. And this old lady keep saying that the owners try make money, and that is why they remodeling the business, but in the same time they don't want make any money. HYPOCRITS!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I believe that OWNERS didn't know about, how bad they stuff is, but if they do, well there is a message for you, you GREEDY F.....S, I will try to NEVER return back here and I wish someone would open truck stop near by to challenge you. Wow, it is a very first time I dissatisfied and disappointed that much, and also first time I wright review that...

Dear sweet Lord, where to begin.

Arrived here with my FiancƩe as we were sent to get an ABS light fixed on our Freightshaker. Upon arrival, notice the 15.00 gate fee, figure no big deal as it is service related and we go in. The girls they have at the shop are FAR more interested in their nails then you as a bottom-feeding truck driving type so it will be some time till you can flag one down to help you. Waste 45 minutes getting checked in then we meander over to the C Store, Motel, Restaurant what have you only to see a fist-fight break out in fueling due to a driver trying to back away from the gate, where he sees the 15.00 fee. Go inside so as not to become collateral damage and the place is dirty, disorganized and the stuff is priced like you are on a cruise ship!

Back to the lot to sit in the rig until called and we watch the lot lizards scurry, only the second time I have ever seen any, and my FiancĆ©es first. At least they didn’t walk to the passenger side and proposition HER, as they did in Portland on the next trip!

Overall this place is a blight on Pilot’s name and that is saying something because Pilot isn’t generally real high up the evolutionary scale to begin with. Entry level drivers, rude flip flop wearing goons who got in due to Covid money and other assorted n’er do wells being the norm for the places.

Avoid if at all possible, I know I will never return unless and until they demolish what IS there and replace it with something less threatening and more responsive to...
