From what I've heard some of the rooms are updated but ours was definitely not. I was surprised at how old of a mattress they had on the bed. My husband didn't find it very comfortable, especially on the first night but luckily he falls asleep pretty fast. I thought it was okay but it did sink in in the middle. I like spring mattresses and this was an old spring mattress so if that's why it was okay for me. I asked him if there was anything they can do about the mattress and they offered me mattress pad which I thought would be thicker but it was really just a thin one so we didn't use it. A spring fell off of the couch bed when my daughter was sleeping on it and I asked them to look at it but don't know if they ever did because the spring was still laying on the table when I got back. Maintenance did come by the room to help with the few things and they did everything else they said. A blind fell down, small stuff like that. The office was nice and the area was nice. The pool and hot tub and sauna were great. I didn't use the sauna but the pool was a great temperature and the hot tub was a little too hot but that's fine with me. It's only open until 9:00 p.m. because that's how late the office is open so that was the only part that I didn't like about the pool. A lot of times there can be traffic coming out of Yellowstone so you don't have a lot of time at the end of the day if you want to do a lot in the park. We went early enough that it didn't take too long to get places most of the time but you never could predict about getting home. It seemed like most of the time there was a reason the West entrance was backed up. Also, we stayed several days and there aren't enough towels or washcloths so you have to trade them out with housekeeping. We couldn't always be there during housekeeping hours but the front desk did get some for us when we were about to run out and I was able to pick them up there. I do wish they would just leave you enough to begin with though. Overall, it was a nice stay. The rooms are just very outdated and really need an update and the mattresses need changed out...
Read moreWe checked into the Timbers condo on 7/19/25 into an old out-date room (room 118) that has not been renovated since the 70s it seems. I was okay with the older room if everything worked properly. The first morning, we got up very early to go to the park (before the housekeeping & front desk were open). We awoke to find out that the coffee pot was broken so we had to go buy coffee in town. I sent a text message to the hotel to have the coffee pot replaced while we were out so that we would have coffee for the next morning. Upon arriving back at the room (after housekeeping was gone for the day), we learned that the coffee pot was not changed. I had to bring the old coffee pot to the front desk agent to exchange and wait for her to go to the housekeeping shed to find another one. Well, the new coffee pot lasted until the last day, when again it broke forcing us to buy coffee in town. But more importantly, we had to take ICE COLD showers three mornings during the week! We were placed into a room that had an ancient water heater that was rusted out and was only functioning when the maintenance man reset the thermal safety switch. Upon the first day of freezing showers, I called the front desk and was told that the maintenance man would reset the switch. This worked for a day and then happened again. Another reset and we had another day with hot water. And yet again, this happened on the morning of check out. We informed the maintenance man about the issue again and all he did was laugh at the situation. The thermal switch is a safety device, that is there for a reason. Resetting it daily is very irresponsible. At check out, we informed Angie Illum (Resort General Manager) of all the issues that we had during our stay. To compensate, she did not charge the $35 resort fee and informed us that she would request a refund of the RCI points, exchange fees, and guest fees used to pay for this room. We checked out on 7/26/25 and I still have not had any resolution or refund of the points &...
Read moreThere is no AC in the condos. We arrived in mid August on a day with a high temperature of 91 degrees. The room was very hot. There’s no ceiling fan in the bedroom. We let the kids sleep in the dining room under the only ceiling fan. There’s another small plastic fan inside the condo. It broke after 30 minutes of use. Although the outdoor temperature did drop at night, the bedroom temperature was still very hot due to the lack of air movement.
I don’t mind the property’s deco being outdated. But many things in the condo are really old and need to be repaired or replaced. The pull chain on the ceiling fan fell apart, the sliding closet door easily slid off track, the sink leaked and wetted all the towels underneath the sink and caused the mildew smell...And one morning, there’s no water. I went to the office to check and met multiple guests who lost water. The office was not open yet and none of the after-hour emergency phone numbers posted had anyone we could talk to. So we had to leave messages and hope the issue would be resolved. At the mean time, nobody could take shower, flush the toilet etc. When the office finally opened, the lady we talked to had no apology. She coldly told us the water main broke and there’s no estimate when the issue would be fixed.
The club house was under construction during our stay. I heard a few guests complaining about the work starting at 6:00am. We were lucky that our condo was far from the club house so we weren’t affected by the construction noise like they were.
On the bright side, the location of the resort is good. It is about 30 minutes from Yellowstone National park’s western entrance. There are a few restaurants and a small super market near by so it’s really convenient. some of the ladies who worked there were really nice, esp the one who was at the Wednesday waffle breakfast. Also, when we reported the leaky sink, the maintenance person...
