An original motel come back to life. The new owners have done such a great job refreshing this place I couldn't recognize it. I had lived in the area for quite some time before moving away, and I had to ask about what was there prior to the South Bay Inn. I was pleasantly reminded. I would call the South Bay Inn as a boutique motel. The room we had was just right for us, with the kitchenet, a queen size bed, and separate bath. The kitchenet had all the essential supplies, dishes, pots and pans, cups, glasses and silver ware. The nice size, motel room refrigerator kept things either frozen in the freezer or cold in the refrigerator section. The bathroom had a shower, with a large rain head shower head. I didn't want to get out of the warm shower, as it felt good, like I was in a rain storm of warm rain. The folks that we met were very kind and very hospitable. The check in and check out were seem less and quick. The rooms and grounds are very well kept, clean and inviting. The location is excellent, it is on the main road leading into Westport however we couldn't hear the traffic going by. If you want to head to the southern part, Grayland, North Cove, or Tokeland, this is a great location. If you wanted to head to the lighthouse aka "Westport Light" or the dock area, this is a great location. It was a nice surprise to see this quant motel of yesteryear be revived into the gem that...
Read moreI really wanted to give this place a 5 star review when I first saw it since I believe in tiny living and decreasing our carbon footprint. The room was very clean and well decorated with lots of amenities. However, I found it very difficult to sleep due to the slamming doors until well after midnight and the road noise since you are right on the main road into Westport. This motel allows pets and those staying with pets (and maybe others) went in and out constantly during the night and slammed the doors every time. Maybe a note could be put on the doors reminding guests to close them quietly. Also, the kitchenette area is great but my small room did not have any place to sit except the bed or outside so a kitchenette wasn't that useful. A fold up chair and tray at least would have been beneficial. I don't normally need the heat but the room became chilly, while trying to get the heat on, it wouldn't work. I then realized that the heat is controlled by the thermostat. A note on the unit stating that would have been very useful. The rain shower head looked nice but I didn't use the shower since it was just a 1 night stay. Probably won't stay again but nice effort creating a low cost motel for travelers. ...
Read moreI stayed here for a night in mid May 2025. The hotel is right off the main street in Westport, just a short drive to the beach and lots of restaurants. The South Bay Inn has recently been completely renovated and is very nice! The room I booked easily slept 4 of us. It had two bathrooms, a nice kitchen and had plenty of cook water, plates and silverware. For just over $200 for a large room on a weekend, I thought this was a GREAT value (I booked one of their larger rooms. They have smaller rooms that are also well-priced).
The hotel is dog-friendly and plenty of space for your dog to roam. The hotel has a nice view of the harbor. Outside, there is a fire pit, picnic tables and a grassy area to throw a frisbee or football.
Check in was easy! The hotel sends you the door code for the room, so there is no traditional check in. The staff were super helpful and friendly.
This is definitely one of the better choices of accommodation in Westport. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning in the...
