3/5 stars because this is a mixed review.
PROS: 15 minutes off the strip, with shopping nearby! The price is very fair for what you get. Most of the staff are very friendly. 24/7 security and a manned entry gate. Overall, it’s a nice place despite a few things I’ll mention below.
CONS: It’s in the ghetto. We hear gunshots nightly. Literally. Very happy to have a security gate, I know other local parks in Vegas are open to the street without a gate.
Apparently a review from 3 months ago stated that somebody had an issue with their service dog. This is still an issue! 3 weeks ago I was harassed by staff (Older English lady, i think her name was Tracy) for having my service dog in the laundry room. She was rude & inappropriate, demanding I disclose my disability to her. I went to the office - the manager apologized profusely and said she’d handle it. A week later, picking up my mail with my dog and a worker told me, no dogs allowed indoors. When I informed her that he’s a service dog, she rolled her eyes and handed our mail.
This same English woman (she’s the bathroom janitor) has harassed us and several of my neighbors for needing the facilities when she’s working in there. Rather than closing off a couple areas at a time, she forbids anyone from entering the entire building.
This RV park has a lot of rules that are important to maintain a level of upkeep and peace in the RV park - but the rules are being enforced selectively.
Several transients have received notices on their doors about clutter (tote bins and towing equipment) in their sites. If you walk around the RV park, you’ll spot many seasonal and permanent RV sites that look like an episode of “Trailer Park Hoarders.”
The RV behind me is storing old tires, dying plants, and car parts beneath. The staff that escorted us to our site commented on the garbage but, a month later and the mini junk yard is still there.
The rules don’t apply to the perms or to the staff.
I’ve been yelled at for going 8mph through the park (5mph speed limit), but Staff golf carts fly down streets and around corners, doing over 10 mph.
One of the crazy rules here is no gas fire pits! State parks that prohibit camp fires due to high risk of forest fires allow gas fire pits. It’s safe and controlled. But not here! Don’t fire it up unless you’re a permanent in the RV park.
It all makes sense, since most of the staff that work here are seasonal and permanents.
Do as we say, not as we do!
One night, I got a notification from my CCTV cameras that motion was detected in my site around 330 in the morning. When I replayed the video, it was an RV Park staff member poking around our space with a flashlight. After he was finished being nosey, he rode away on his golf cart.
It’s great that there’s a dog park here, but it’s a strange experience. Most people won’t let their dogs play with other dogs. Dogs are pack animals and NEED to socialize with other dogs. We’ve been told that we can’t enter the dog park, so there’s occasionally an awkward line waiting to get in. There’s a large city dog park up the street called Dog Fancier.
Returning to the RV park in an Uber, security very rudely told us to keep our mirror hang tag (it’s not small) on us for re-entry. If I’m carrying my parking pass on me, then my truck is in violation for not having a hang tag on it. So which rule are we supposed to break here? Lol It wasn’t a big deal - just super annoying, and not very friendly or welcoming.
I don’t expect an actual response on this review from the company, since all their comments appear to be generic “copy and paste” responses and promise to “speak with the team” about the customer’s concerns.
Would I stay here again? IF I return to Vegas, I probably would come back because the price is right and because there’s 24/7 security. But at least now I’ll have realistic expectations for my experience.
Now excuse me while I email Bravo to pitch my idea for their next popular series “Trailer...
Read moreI feel like 2 stars is generous. Let me tell you why:
First of all, we are here for work and are here month-to-month. I guess for some reason that's why we're stuck in the very back of the park on the asphalt parking lot near the long term storage we've dubbed the RV Boneyard. But it's quiet -- so there's one star.
Second of all, the grounds are kept nice and clean and there is someone that comes around on a golf cart about every 20 minutes doing rounds to make sure everything is ok. At night the person has a flashlight and is checking under and around the parked RVs and vehicles to make sure nothing is amiss. So there's the second star.
The problems I have are this:
First, the closest bathroom to us has been closed since we got here for some supposed storm damage. My key has never worked in the next closest bathroom to us and even if it did, those are closed for cleaning every day from 5am-7am. Which might be prime cleaning time if you're a retired RVer living the good life in Vegas, but not someone who works every day and enjoys a fresh shower in the morning before heading to work. So my only option is to walk to the very front of the park and use the bathrooms there every morning -- which has turned into quite a brisk walk now that winter has hit. So there's the first minus star.
Second, we have two different names on our reservation (my coworker's is listed first and apparently mine is second) -- but unless you raise a fuss in the office, the second name on the reservation basically doesn't exist because they don't enter it in the system. This is problematic when you have visitors trying to get through the front gate and the guard shack says they have no record of you staying there even though you come through the entrance 2-3 times a day. It's also problematic when you need something important last minute and pay extra to have something overnighted to you but the office rejects the package from UPS because they "have no record of your name on file" even though you put your site # next to your name on the package. I feel like only subtracting one star for this debacle is overly generous.
Third, and I know this is a universal RV park problem, but the wi-fi is a joke. But here's why I dock a star for it here: every other park I go to, its consistently bad. That's just the way it is. But here, the wi-fi is actually decent (about 5mb/s download and 2.5mb/s upload) during the day while the office is open. But then every afternoon at 4:30, it slows back down to 0.5mb/s download speeds if you're lucky. So the fact that they could offer faster speeds but throttle them when they don't need them in the office is definitely worth docking them a star, in my opinion.
Side notes: Yes, it's in a pretty rough neighborhood. Yes I hear sirens almost every single night. Yes there was even a police helicopter flying overhead one evening shining its spotlight through the park searching for someone. Yes I've heard gunshots on more than one occasion. But surprisingly, I feel secure here. Even though the "guards" at the guard shack are about 40 years my senior, I feel like their constant presence does a nice job of keeping out any riffraff. And like I mentioned before, the park is meticulously clean. The bushes are neatly trimmed and garbage is nonexistent. In fact, they're so diligent about this, I had a garbage bag for storing something in. I had emptied it, left the bag on the ground and went in my trailer for 30 seconds to put its contents away. When I returned to dispose of the bag, it was gone and I saw a golf cart driving off. They do a good job of keeping this place clean despite the...
Read moreI am not even sure where to begin about just how bad this place is. I must first state that in the beginning, on the phone, Susan was professional, nice and accommodating. She said all the right things to get us to book our stay which was going to be for 30 days.
This is by far the dirtiest place we have ever been. Cigarette butts everywhere. Trying to keep this short and sweet, I will just hit on a few things you should know. First, this place is anything but dog friendly. We have ever been to a worse place for dogs. Seriously. Not one blade of grass anywhere.
Second and third go together; this place has a ton of rules that only apply to some but not all, especially if you work and live here. Let me explain; Within 2 minutes after arriving and setting up in the heat of the day, 118 degrees, our main AC compressor wouldn’t kick in so I was trying to spray it with a hose as it was too hot to climb up and unfreeze it. We immediately received a call that said we could not wash our rig, washing rigs was not allowed. However if we wanted to pay an additional $25 we could… (the ‘maintenance staff which consists of extremely grumpy old men married to the front desk ‘Karen’s’ drive around making laps looking for anyone they can complain about).
It says in the rules you can’t wash your rig. Ok, cool. It also says in the rules that you can’t have any clutter or any eyesore. It says that you can’t use concrete blocks to form structures or brace awnings. (See photos) Did I mention this place is d-i-r-t-y?
It also says that you can’t work on vehicles. I walked around the park and in 15 minutes I had taken over 100 photos of clutter, chaos and vehicles up on Jack stands. There were so many ‘violations’ according to their lengthy rule sheet, including some by the lady who called to scold us.
This park is also located essentially in the ghetto. The small store just outside the driveway is incredibly dangerous and I do not recommend going there for any reason. The photos and descriptions of this park are a bait-and-switch. This place is NOT nice, it is NOT clean, there is NO way this is a 2 star let alone a 4 star.
The only reason we lasted one night was because of our super sweet and nice neighbor lady. We have traveled in our RV across the country and this was by far the dirtiest and worst park we have ever...
