We arrived at the restaurant just before 8 PM with a group of eight. After parking, I took the kids to freshen up, while the rest of our group stayed behind to order food for them. I returned 15 minutes later and not even our drink orders had been taken. Another 10 minutes passed, and we had to go find someone to complain to. Only then did the manager bring over water, followed by our drinks—now 35 minutes in with still no food ordered.||When the drinks were finally dropped off, we specifically asked that the kids’ meals be placed immediately, and mentioned we were ready to order everything else as well. Incredibly, it took two full hours for the kids' food to arrive. It was 9:50 PM by the time they got their meals, despite us having been seated before 8.||The issues didn’t stop there. One of the pasta dishes we ordered with marinara sauce came out with white sauce. When we pointed this out, we were told that the chef “made it that way on purpose,” which was baffling. As we hadn’t touched the plate due to the mistake, we were shocked when a food runner later picked it up and delivered it to another table. This is not only unprofessional—it’s a serious health code violation.||To make matters worse, our table near the fireplace had a dying bird trapped inside, its wings clearly injured and fluttering in dust and debris. We informed the manager, who said they had no idea an animal was in there. This was surprising, considering the bird had been audibly distressed the entire time we were there.||Later, around 10:40 PM, after putting the kids to bed, we returned to the bar hoping to unwind with a drink. There were only two other people at the bar. Even with such a small crowd, we were ignored for over 15 minutes. Bartender Amanda D. deliberately served other guests who arrived after us. We know bc she looked over at us multiple times. As someone who worked in the service industry for years, I don’t write negative reviews lightly. But the service was beyond unacceptable—it was outright disrespectful.||What’s most troubling is that this restaurant is partnered with the Hilton brand. We expected a standard of service that matched the name, but what we experienced was disorganized, inattentive, and careless. We weren’t trying to be difficult—we genuinely wanted to enjoy a short getaway with our family. We weren’t rude, even though we should have been after waiting two hours . Instead, we were met with delay after delay, error after error, and poor treatment throughout the night.||Multiple other tables also voiced their dissatisfaction, so this wasn’t an isolated experience. If this location hopes to maintain any standard reflective of Hilton’s reputation, significant changes in staffing, training, and perhaps even management...
Read moreFirst off, I wanted to start the review by saying the staff is super friendly and accommodating. Great people work here.
Our bathroom had three bottles on the wall. Typically, these are shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. We had two body washes and one conditioner. I'm sure this could be easily fixed, so no biggie.
For me, the most frustrating part was the fact that as a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I get $15 a night in rewards to spend at the pantry, the bar, or the market. If you're diamond, you know that the Pantry usually consists of a multitude of snacks as well as vitals you may have left at home, such as toothpaste, mouthwash, etc.
This hotels "Market" is actually the pantry. Everything you'd expect at the pantry at a typical Hilton is in the Market. The Market is only open from 6-11 am.
The front desk has a "pantry," which consists of a small selection of chips, candy bars, and sodas. However, the soda selection is bare bones. It's a mini fridge, and when they run out of stock, they don't restock. At least not in the 3 days I was there. However, the market has 3 or 4 giant fridges with a huge variety of sodas and other beverages. The front desk, however, doesn't have a key to open those refrigerators. Luckily enough, they did allow me to purchase other items from the market at the front desk after the market had closed. But I still was unable to get my beverage of choice.
I guess I say all that to warn diamond members that want to spend their $15 credits on small snacks and drinks to preplan and purchase things that you might want in the evening after a long day at Busch Gardens in the morning at the Market and don't rely on the demure "pantry" at the front desk.
Also, the Taphouse doesn't have desserts.
Also, for some reason, parking costs $10 a day. I'm not sure why. There are no major attractions nearby ("outside of Busch Gardens") where parking would need to be a premium. Should be free just like any other hilton in medium/small towns. Huge parking lot.
This place is not run by Hilton. It's operated by a different company under the license of Hilton. This could be why this hotel might not be up to the typical Hilton standards that you might expect from a...
Read moreWe were there for a surprise party. I booked through the hotel number provided, 1st mistake, asked about discounts and the AARP rate was $287 a night for 2 seniors and the only rooms available were with 2 queen beds. At check in, I was told rooms #159 was "right down that hall". I went back to the car and got my mom in a wheelchair, our bags and her walker. Down the hall, up two ramps, down that hall and made a left and one room from the very end of that hall. I got all my steps. Thanks. Tub had a dead spider, so I watered it down the drain. There was a long brunette hair on the open low toilet lid. I had my bleach wipes and wiped down everything. Went to bar to order something to eat in the room. Ordered a cheeseburger, with bacon and fries came with that and since I had to wait, a Jack & Ginger Ale with Lemon. Total $41.00 with gratuity automatically added. 4 bartenders, attending to and fawning over 3 patrons so it took a bit of time to be acknowledged and then to pay for my order. Drink was powerful. Burger was huge and fries were oddly shaped like curly fries on steroids but both delicious and hot. I ate half, mom only wanted some fries. We visited friends at hotel came back to cold leftovers and it still tasted good. Morning shower, live bug in bathroom,.squished. Party was fabulous, food was delicious. After party a few of us went back to Taproom bar to catch up. Snacked and had a couple of cocktails. I had to change up my drink because they ran out of ginger ale. Sprite really goes good with Jack Daniel's. Checking out the next morning, not expecting any more charges because I had prepaid and I had read my prereceipt that had been emailed me and saw 2 $12.00 charges for "parking". I questioned the nice gentleman at the desk because he stated the charge by asking where is the "free" parking because of my mom, we have a handicap placard. And he said, there is none and I said then why was I charged? He said that become the hotel is in such close proximity to Busch Garden, people park in their lot and walk over to avoid paying that fee. WTH??!!! I said oooohhhhh. When I wanted to say, do I look like Nicky New Girl because THAT explanation makes NO sense. Email to...
