I’ve been here a few times and have tried to give it chances, but it is a hit or miss every time. It is just a frustrating experience and I won’t be going back. I’ve worked in several restaurants in management and this is clearly a issue of lack of organization, quality control, and in reviewing others reviews - care for the business. Our first order ever was a pick up for 50 wings fried which already was $60 JUST for wings, which is all we ordered. we specifically didn’t want them battered and they were battered. My family didn’t want to go through the hassle to get it redone so we still ate it but to have that mess up was not okay for such a simple order. Second time I did a pick up, I ordered a small order of 8 wings and it was fine, so I figured it was a one time thing for the mess up. Third time we went in for a quick dinner and the food took a while to come out but the wings were fine (though needed to be cooked longer) and the fish and chips were just okay, but it met our need for a quick meal. Fourth time we did a pick up, specifically said EXTRA CRISPY NOT BATTERED several times and they still were battered and had to go back to get them redone and the other meal didn’t have any sauces and was flavorless. And now, our most recent order only placed because it was close and we needed something quick was a pick up - 2/3 meals had to be redone. The MVP chicken sandwich was bare with none of the sauces or toppings listed to come, the burger was a single patty that easily is LESS than a mcdonald’s burger - in fact, it’s listed as 1/2 pound and I went ahead and weighed it and it was a quarter pound, absolutely ridiculous. I called to let them know we needed replacement orders. The woman we spoke to had to look up on the menu what the MVP chicken sandwich (the only chicken sandwich they offer) - she thought it was a grilled yet it’s not listed as that at all. We went back and they had a small burger patty in a tray to top the burger (which is what we needed to bring back to receive the replacement) instead of remaking the burger - i’ve never seen that before. We’re we supposed to walk out with just a burger patty? The remade the chicken sandwich and it was again, just okay. This isn’t somewhere I’d say to do pick up, clearly, because if they mess up it’s easier to fix it right then and there in the restaurant as your sitting. But even that, is a subpar experience with limited service and okay food- it lacks flavor and amount. If anything, i’d only buy their ā€œaward winningā€ Dr. Luv it sauce, which really only is spicy bbq sauce. Do not come here unless your going INSIDE, maybe if their terrible service and food come at least you can get SOMETHING (if they’re a solid business practice) than to waste your money as I have.

We decided to try the all-you-can-eat spaghetti on Wednesdays. The price is $8.99 and for that you get unlimited spaghetti that is really meaty and tasty. You also get a piece of garlic bread and a salad. The flavor is more of a chili style than an Italian tomato style, but that is what I grew up on and what my wife fixes me also. I really enjoyed it. The waitress was very attentive and very personable. 2020-01-12 Tonight we tried the Tuesday special ribeye steak deal. Our appetizer was the linebacker chili. I couldn't believe how meaty and delicious the linebacker chili was and I definitely recommend it. I got the baked potato and a salad on the side. Both were good. The ribeye steak was perfectly done and very tender. I did not know that the steak would be seasoned quite as much as it was, and although the seasoning was good, the next time I will be ordering it either lightly seasoned or no seasoning. For dessert I had the bread pudding. It was interesting but I will not be ordering that again. All in all it was a great meal, service was fantastic, and I will be returning.

Sportsman's Grille in Williamsburg, Virginia has become a favorite of ours. The sports bar restaurant has a casual atmosphere, bar seating at one end of the room in addition to the dining area. The menu offers a large variety of American foods for lunches- finger food, salads, sandwiches, platters, and delicious soups. My favorite dish is the fish platter. The fish is haddock and can be served fried or seasoned and broiled. Portions are large, fish is flaky, moist; breading is lightly fried but not oily, and priced reasonably. Sides of fries or Cole slaw may be substituted for no or little additional cost. We have found service to be attentive, prompt, and courteous. The restaurant also offers a dinner menu that is served after 5 pm and offers a different "special" each evening during the week. Atmosphere is comfortable and we appreciate the consistency of service and food quality.

After a long day at Water Country USA & Busch Gardens, my family and I were looking for a good local eatery near Kingsmill Resort and we found one in Sportsmans Grille! We consider ourselves to be "connoisseurs of fine chicken wings", and the wings here did not disappoint one bit!

The visit started a bit rough, as it was very busy with tourists and locals alike, so we ended up standing near the hostess station for a solid 10+ minutes before being seated, or even greeted for that matter. Once we got passed that little bump in the road, the experience was flawless. Our server was great and informative when we had menu questions and service was prompt and courteous.

I asked about the rotating beer tap and ended up trying a local craft beer named Pocahoptus IPA, by Center of The Universe Brewing. The beer could have been a tad colder, but was a top notch IPA. While we're on the subject of temperature, the entire restaurant could have been a bit cooler. It was a very hot and humid day, I understand, but it was a bit stuffy in the dining room.

We ordered a large salad to share among the four of us and three flavors of wings, Honey Mustard, Old Bay and Garlic Parmesan. The wings were large, perfectly crispy and sauced (Old Bay were a dry rub) just right! Needless to say, we got our fill on the food and left very satisfied. My wife and I favored the Old Bay. Our fifteen year old son favored the Garlic Parmesan, and our ten year old favored the Honey Mustard, in case you were wondering.

The next evening before leaving the park once again, we placed an order for pickup and enjoyed some more wings back at our room at Kingsmill Resort. The pickup wings were not quite as crispy, because moisture inside the carryout container made them a bit soggy by the time we got them back to the room ,but they were still very good!

Sportmans Grille advertises their wings in the menu as "The best in town" and I would say I probably believe them. If you're in the area, don't hesitate to give this...

Update: I noticed in my credit card bill the bartender gave herself a $2 tip I did not give her. Huge problem and I will be calling the management.

While the food is usually always on point with good specials the service leaves a lot to be desired. I am a local that has been coming for years but today was the last straw.

12:06 sat down at bar table 12:14 waitress greeted and I ordered a drink & water 12:16 she ran out saying my order was coming 12:22 the bartender approaches to take my order. She explains that the previous waitress had an emergency. 12:25 I get my drink and water and a taste of sauce comes a minute later. She said she would be right back to take my order.

At this point customers had started rolling in for football. Previously, there were about 6 people at the bar and only one other couple in bar tops. One couple walks in to sit at a bar top. At 12:38 I made the decision that, despite how hungry I was and that I loved the sauce, if the waitress took past 12:45 to arrive I will leave.

She came at 12:46 and I told her that she last checked on me 25 minutes ago and that I just wanted my check. She said she told me they were short handed and she will get me my check. She turned immediately to the table behind me to service them.

Had she just replied, ā€œGosh, I’m sorry, I did not realize it was that long. We really picked up just now.ā€ I would have said thank you and ordered.

Now had this been the first time we had experienced service issues I would not have posted. Recently, several times I had been with my husband we had extremely slow service even when they were not slammed. The last time we were there we learned the owner had decided to stop serving chili as a soup thus part of their soup flight. It was my husband’s favorite thing in their menu…soup flight with one being the chili. The waitress said she had no idea why the owner did that but it recently changed.

So since my last three visits had negative...
