Imagine having a disability and being treated like scum at the bottom of the owners shoe because of it. We travel year round and have for years all over the USA, stayed in many hotels. My husband has never been treated so poorly for having a service dog. I hope she never has anyone in her family with a disability and has the same treatment as we did. We didn’t even stay we walked out and took hard earned money elsewhere. Here are some things she said to us even after seeing his card for his service dog. “It’s not going to sleep on the bed with you is it” “If it goes on the bed then I’d have to clean the blanket, it’s just me cleaning I don’t have time for that” Mind you there was only ONE other car in the parking lot. “Well did you check other hotels in the area” “Well where is your service dog now” She was huffing and puffing the whole time I can’t even remember all of her rude remarks. I went to the car and bawled. I felt so bad for my husband for the treatment he got for having a disability. He has already had a hard enough time coming to grips with it now himself. If anyone knows a service dog they are well trained, clean and stay with you at all times. She is never left in a hotel room alone as she is with my husband at all times. So disheartening. Me me me mentality no heart for...
Read moreSmall, clean, cozy. Place to sleep, nice bathrooms. Got hot water with amazing water pressure. TV with all the local cable channels, coffee maker, microwave, and clean linens. It's a really nice cozy spot at a very fair price. The woman who owns it has been managing and working the place by herself or with only one or two other staff members for 20 years. They just got a brand new roof this year and are about to have the parking lot re-done. The outside may not look the most modern or flashy, but the place is clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. It's also the place all the locals recommend staying. My father and I were in town for deer hunting. The TV had local stations and a hunting channel. All the local food places deliver here. Reasonably priced and we had no complaints. Amazing water pressure in the shower. -From...
Read moreI was passing through and stopped at a gas station to see where a clean hotel was. A lady (Eve, Shopko) told me about the Dakota Inn. They had just painted and renovated and they were clean and a great price. Eve was right. The lady running it was so nice and personable. We talked for about 30 minutes. When I asked about a room the first thing she said is, would you like to see room 22? That's great Customer Service. The bed was very comfortable. I cooled the room down and then turned off the AC and slept like a tired biker should sleep. There was a frig and microwave. This place is not at all fancy. But for a great, great price, it is everything you need when passing through. I would not hesitate to stop with my wife. ...
