Blu Inn Punta del Este — Hotel in Punta Del Este

My hubby is from Punta del Este, and he advised me on how expensive it can get during the high season (summer time) so I wasn't expecting much when we found this little hotel at a very reasonable price, BUT I can't say enough good things about it. Though this is not a fancy hotel, the facilities are charming and the staff is amazing (friendly and helpful). This Inn is centrally located, close to shops and restaurants AND best of all, just a few steps from the beach! Also, they have towels, umbrellas, beach chairs and even bikes available to guests at all time! I'd highly recommend it as it is a great value AND it truly represents the Punta del Este vibe.||||PS. The staff is friendly but the value for the hotel has much to be desired. I have no idea how the hotel post rates so high when the town was pretty empty. I would rate this hotel higher if the price was appropriate. The hotel itself is pretty small and old and the fridge looked to be 30 years old. The rooms seem to be more like jail cells then actual hotel rooms. ||||The hotel staff tried to be friendly but they require the key when you leave and come back. ||||Stay away from this hotel and punta del este in general as they are the epidemy of a tourist trap gone wrong. Our family stayed in the apt with 2 rooms. The room is spacious but not too big, the bathrooms are clean and a small balcony. There is no hairdryer and some amenities like a kettle in room would be nice, though the microwave and the mini fridge are a nice touch. The bedsheets had a nice smell. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. After a long day at the beach and sightseeing the pizza in hotel is decent. The location as it’s right in between main beaches that are only two blocks away is perfect. My family liked the hotel, the vibe is to enjoy the beach and go to the hotel just to sleep and shower.
