GRAND EMIR RESIDENCE HOTEL — Hotel in Bukhara City

Rooms were large but that's all you could say. Bad management. Shower was plugged up and they wanted to blame us, finally came to room with toilet plunger to use on shower drain, and all kinds of muck and yuck came up, followed by chemical treatment, meaning although we arrived late we could not shower for over an hour after finally getting them to address the problem. WiFi is horrible, breakfast extremely mediocre. Not centrally located, so no walking to anything of interest. Our tour downgraded us into this hotel and no one was happy. Very nice new hotel (2 years), quiet (not on the main road), big rooms with comfortable king size beds. ||Short distance to the Labi Chaus (travel time less than 5 minutes by taxi, costs a maximum of 1 USD).||The manager (speaks very good english) and the whole staff (some speak good french) were very friendly and helpful.||The breakfast buffet was rich.||||Some shops and restaurants in the area.||Very good price / performance ratio.||We will choose this hotel again at...

Bukhara has become more touristic since our last visit five years ago and we appreciated being slightly further out. Staff could not have been better. We were ill whilst styaing - sun stroke - and we stayed extra to reciver. Would love to return but its a long trip on the bike.
