EDEM PLAZA — Hotel in Bukhara City

This hotel was not our choice. It was booked by tour operator, and it was a big disappointment. It's a fairly new hotel outside the old city. Even though it's new it's already falling apart due to shoddy construction. When we entered our room, we were shocked to find a large couch blocking access to one side of the bed. The room also had a small alcove with windows on each side, which served no purpose other than to trap heat. The drapes on the windows were not wide enough to cover the windows and with bright lights outside, it was a problem at night. The whole room setup was rather dysfunctional. We asked the staff to remove or move the couch and fix the drapes and they did what they could --- moved some furniture around to put the couch on another wall and clipped the drapes together (which still left a gap). One positive is that staff really tries to be helpful. We came across many charming hotels in the old city, some in converted madrasas. If you're going to Bukhara, you'd be much better off picking a hotel with more charm and class. Also, this hotel has no elevator and is not accessible for people with...

Per una serie di circostanze fortuite, abbiamo alloggiato nella stanza Deluxe. La stanza è grande ma si perde nei dettagli: c'è un unico interruttore per le luci della stanza, posizionato a lato della porta di accesso, non ci sono abat-jour ai lati del letto, quindi per accendere o spegnere la luce bisogna alzarsi dal letto. Se ti alzi la notte è un casino. c'è una colonna nella stanza e per arrivare sul lato sinistro del letto non è comodo non c'è la doccetta nel wc e ovviamente non c'è il bidet c'è un curioso fucile appeso nella stanza :-) non c'è il telefono per comunicare con la reception il letto è enorme (molto gradevole) ma il piumone non compre bene tutto il letto.

Ma la cosa più curiosa è il percorso da fare per arrivare in camera: dalla reception si fa una rampa di scale, poi si scende una rampa (poco agevole perché quasi a chiocciola) e si passa in un cortlle di servizio con le lenzuola stese, i calcinacci, cose sporche e abbandonate, si entra in un secondo edificio e al primo piano con una scala metallica (provvisoria?) si entra nella camera. Ovviamente la stanza si affaccia sul cortile.

Per il resto è un buon albergo. Sembra mancare un tocco femminile e c'è poca attenzione ai dettagli. Ad esempio nella sala della colazione tutti i piatti con il cibo sono sigillati dal domopak e vanno scartati ogni volta, oppure ci sono oggetti lasciati con disordine nella sala, come il detersivo e la pezza per pulire.

La posizione dell'hotel è ottima. In pochi minuti siete nella città vecchia e intorno all'hotel ci sono ristoranti, pasticcerie e cafè non turistici.

Questo hotel ha un grande potenziale e credo davvero che con pochissimi accorgimenti potrebbe...
