I recently stayed at Ishonch hotel in Samarkand that I highly recommend. Located in the heart of the city, it is conveniently close to all major tourist attractions. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful green gardens, creating a tranquil and pleasant atmosphere. The staff are exceptionally friendly, polite, and trustworthy, enhancing the overall experience. Moreover, the value for money is excellent, with top-notch service provided. I strongly suggest this hotel to anyone visiting Samarkand.

The place is obviously not cleaned regularely. There was a dirty bin bag, and a half used water bottle in our room. The room was supersmall and smelly, comoflaged with perfume smell from annoying sprayer. The toilet was leaking and there was a stitch on the bedsheet as you can see in photos. We don’t think this was worth the money they charged. This is not a hotel standard. The staff were nice and friendly though.

No tuvimos suerte.

This is a somewhat old, family-run hotel in the "new"/Russian part of the city. It is located within a park close to the Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum. There are many restaurants including renowned ones like Platan and Samarkand Restaurant nearby. (Hot tip: go to Rayyan Taomlar 10 minutes away - we had THE best Uzbek food there).

The owner and his wife (I think?) are always on-site and very friendly. Only one of the staff members speaks english, but Google Translate eliminated the communication barrier. The rooms are dated but spacious, clean and equipped with all the amenities you'd expect.

Some reviews have stated that the breakfast buffet is poor, but it turned out to be the best we had in Uzbekistan with various freshly-made hot pastries and dishes. The only caveat is that the food is not frequently replenished, so you may find a rather meagre spread if you arrive at the breakfast room past 9am.

If you're after a budget-friendly hotel close to the amazing sights of Samarkand, Ishonch...

The hotel is set back from the main road and next to a small park.||||We had a spacious room on the ground floor which was decently furnished, clean and comfortable. The fridge provided was handy for the drinks. ||||Breakfast was served in a small dining room on the ground floor where a succession of dishes were served in individual portions at the table. Fruits, savoury pastries, cheese, meats, eggs, pancakes, breads. All fresh and tasty.||||The staff were extremely helpful and so pleasant to deal with.||||There was a handy little shop at the end of the building on the left, looking from the road, where we bought our soft drinks and water.||||Thanks to the Ishonch for...
