Finished up a 5 night stay at the Hilton. I was deciding between this and the other Hilton by the beach but opted for this one instead since I wasn’t looking for a beachy vacation.
Overall, this is a decent Hilton, but below many of the other full service Hiltons in south East Asia. The breakfast here is decent - excellent selection of freshly cut fruit and super tasty smoothies that rotate daily. This was a big highlight of breakfast for me. I appreciate that they have 3 delicious noodle options daily - chicken and beef pho, and a daily special. The other Vietnamese food option was OK, not a lot of variety but it was tasty. There is a big vegetarian/indian/western food selection but I found those very weak.
I also tried the seafood buffet dinner and it was quite mediocre in my opinion. Very few local Vietnamese dishes, with the main highlight being the salmon/tuna sashimi. They also had a cold bar with crabs, mussels, prawns, and octopus but I found everything very low quality. The hot food was the worst - all the protein options like the duck and pork belly and ribs were very overcooked and tough to eat.
The diamond recognition here was excellent. I received a 2-category upgrade from my booking. I booked a suite with city view and was upgraded to an ocean view instead. Then again the only change is the view and there’s really not much to see at this location so maybe it’s not really an upgrade at all. The next highest would be the presidential suite but since I’m traveling solo that would be really extra.
The staff here are excellent, and recognized me during breakfast hours (so I did not even have to tell them my room number which was very pleasant and very rare), as well as in the executive lounge. Adam (Đức Đặng) from the concierge desk downstairs was exceptional and helped me arrange a local transport company for my specific time needs to Ba Na Hills. I wanted to get there extra early and leave later than most people and he was able to arrange that for me.
However, the biggest downside is the actual hard product of the hotel. It is extremely dated, with very slow and glitchy elevators, and horrendously bad water pressure in the room.
The elevators (4 serve the hotel) are slow and poorly air conditioned, and if you press a button twice it actually cancels the action. Half the time I was just standing in the elevator unaware it was not moving at all. It doesn’t always recognize the key card you scan when you press the floor you want to go to and takes multiple attempts.
The cold water pressure in my room was so weak there was actually no cold water coming out of my shower at all. I had to ask engineering to fix it, and even then it was a very weak fix and only temporary. The hot water pressure was fine, but I can’t actually shower in hot water.
I noticed the water pressure for my room is best in the mornings, but by the time it’s later afternoon to the evening, it is extremely weak or non existent. The few times I was able to get some cold water to trickle out I was taking the most pathetic shower ever. It was honestly a very uncomfortable and inconvenient situation, and not one I’m eager to repeat.
Overall while the staff at this Hilton are exceptional, I do not see myself returning as the hotel itself is just too dated. The elevator situation is bearable, but the lack of cold water is just...
Read moreI recently had the delightful opportunity to stay at Hilton Da Nang for 11 nights with my wife and our 20-month-old baby. Our overall experience was exceptional, and here’s a detailed review of our stay:
👨👩👧👦 Family-Friendly: Hilton Da Nang is incredibly family-friendly, making it a suitable choice for families with young children. The staff was accommodating and attentive to our needs, especially considering we were traveling with a baby. They also assisted us in finding easy outside laundry services, which was a great help.

The breakfast spread included a mix of Asian and Western dishes, and we were pleasantly surprised to find Korean dishes on the menu occasionally. We also enjoyed happy hour dinner at the executive lounge a few times, which added a touch of luxury to our stay and allowed us to unwind and relax in the evenings.
📍 Location: The hotel boasts a prime location near Han Market, making it convenient to explore most of the city's attractions. We were able to walk around easily and explore the nearby sites. We also had a couple of delightful morning walks along the Han River with our baby, enjoying the serene environment and the beautiful views.

Pros: Location is great/good, depending on what you are looking for. It's on Bach Dang St, and you can walk to convenience stores, or coffee shops (Starbucks and Books Cafe is right next door). Housekeeping staff were friendly and nice Staff at lobby were friendly, although I'd have to say SOME staff were friendly and nice, and some others were not.
Cons: Doorman is almost non-existent. Don't expect anybody who help with your luggage when you arrive. This is one of the things I hate the most when I arrive in Danang airport - a swarm of Grab drivers trying to lure you in without using the app. Same things happend in front of Hilton hotel numerous times. The drivers would be smoking and sitting in front of the lobby, across from the lobby, and would ask if I need a ride while I'm waiting for my Grab. At a 5 star hotel? Harrassing customers? Please. Room was clean, but bland. Wall seemed to be quick thin - I could hear other room flushing toilet, and had to call once to ask the next room to quiet down at night. If the room is looking over the Han River, it's nice, but Bach Dang Complex building right next to the hotel is blocking 50% of the view. It's probably not the hotel's fault, but people could see through the window if they wanted to. The hotel card to use the elevator is annoying to use. The sensor would not read the card very well, so there were a few times I thought it worked, but didn't so I was just standing in the elevator without it moving. After putting the card on the sensor, you press the button for the floor you're going, and you have to make sure that the floor button is kept on, since if the card is not read properly, the floor button will still turn on, but turn off after like a second. It was just super annoying. Look out when you get off the elevator at the lobby. There is a big staircase literally after 5 walks after you get off the elevator, and if you're on your phone or not paying attention, you will hit your head. It's not a good layout at all.
All in all, with this price, I would recommend Novotel a little more north in Bach Dang (even though I think Hilton location is better), or Melia Vincom Hotel across the river.
Even though it was not the worst experience, it was definitely not the Hilton experiene at all.
Forgot to add one thing: They did not add my Hilton Points in my membership (even though I'm a Gold member and they did acknowledge when I checked in), so I had to take time to reach out to Hilton customer service and manually receive the points. Little things add up and it was not a pleasant...
