Golden Pearl Hotel — Hotel in Da Lat City

Location good, and street fairly quiet. Easy to walk almost everywhere or a Grab won’t cost more than £1-2 to most places. |We arrived at 06:00am and had been told we would be able to leave our luggage whilst we went out for the day. When we arrived the hotel front was closed with a rolling shutter. A man soon arrived and opened up and we were lucky to have a room ready for us. No friendly welcome etc. and no real ‘service’ but it was fine for the purposes of our short visit to Dalat. ||The room was basic, which would ordinarily be fine, but it wasn’t particularly clean. Long black hairs on the bedroom floor and a few in the bed. Some old stains on the white bed linen. Feet were dirty after walking around barefoot for a short period. Two small water bottles, one of which was open and half drank. The shower was pretty useless. An old grubby shower head that didn’t work well, and a shower door that didn’t fit the gap meant that despite being very careful, the bathroom floor still was flooded with water. ||The lift wasn’t working during our stay. Thankfully we only had to climb 2 floors and are very capable, but it was 30° and there was no AC. Wouldn’t be ideal for all guests. ||Kindly stored our luggage after checkout and a much friendlier man was on the desk this time. Worst hotel we stayed at in Vietnam so far. We stayed 3 nights, no one came to take garbage or change towels. Soap containers in the bathroom were practically empty at arrival. Had to ask ourselves for a toilet paper. In the end we had to pay for water which was left in the room, even though all other places gave water every day for free. Staff didn't speak english, but we managed to communicate with google translator. There was mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. No aircondition. Location was ok. We booked it through travel agency, so we dont know what the price was, maybe it's super cheap, but we wouldn't...

The hotel is really close to convenient store and some restaurants, around 400 to 500m to Da Lat market and Xuan Huong Lake. We booked 2 twin room (2 people each) but the hotel gave us 1 twin (for 4 people) and 1 double and we had to pay more. The room was clean but the hotel did not change the drap everyday. I had bad experiences with the bathroom and it was extremely slow when I asked for help. The staff were friendly but not really helpful. The soundproof was poor so it was noisy almost all the time.
