Stayed for 3 nights here after staying in the Old Quarters area.
LOCATION: Picked this place well aware of its not-so-near distance from the Old Quarters. That said, you'll be able to find the necessary things like food, pharmacy, and more - the hotel is surrounded by plenty of shops. If you don't mind living further away from the city which takes around 10-15 mins Grab ride, and wish to live closer to the West Lake, this place isn't too bad considering the comfortable stay.
ROOM & VIEW Was given the corner room - it was only 500 sqft but to was extremely impressed with the layout and spatial design - it didn't feel claustrophobic. In fact there was a coziness to it that made it felt more like home than a hotel. Noticed a load of Japanese channels on the TV which made me realized the hotel was Japanese themed. From its TV channels down to its smart, space-saving interior design.
Things offered in the room which stood out: A curtained partition rail that's available to separate the bed from the living area A comfortable living area despite the small space A foldable dining table that can be retracted into the built-in pantry A HUGE pantry with built-in electronic stoves and even a rice cooker Generous wardrobe space adjoint to the pantry Huge storage space for at least 12 pairs of adult shoes Smart drainage/gutter design in the toilet that ensures water splashes from the shower/tub don't overflow into the toilet bowl/sink area. The restaurant situated on the roof-level offers a great 180-degree view of the city and overlooks the West Lake. Indoor and outdoor seatings are available. Reception was friendly and helpful.
Things which weren't the best but are passable, thanks to the pros above: Shower head is installed directly above the bathtub. Takes a little effort to climb into the tub for showers (maybe not be the safest for older folks, though hand rails are readily available). Room cleaning service comes early around 9am, which was considerably early. My room view was obstructed by neighbouring apartments but it was not a big deal. The comfy room helped draw my attention away. The main entrance to the hotel lobby is a short flight of stairs. However, there is a lift via the motorcycle parking area for guests to use. This is a plus for those with heavier luggages, or are disabled and have challenges using even a short flight of stairs.
The breakfast food was sub-par. I took the breakfast option because it was cheaper than the non-breakfast stay. But if the breakfast option is more expensive, then I...
Read moreI had a pleasant and satisfactory experience at Parosand Hanoi Hotel & Apartment.
I arrived at the hotel around 7pm after returning from Sapa. The check-in process was swift and hassle-free, and no deposit was required since I had booked through Agoda. The hotel is conveniently located on Tay Ho Street, in close proximity to West Lake.
The room rate was excellent, and I was pleased to find that my room came with a kitchen (although I didn't have the opportunity to use it) and a spacious 1.5-meter refrigerator. It's worth noting that there are no convenience stores in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The nearest one, Lotte West Lake Mall, is about 10-20 minutes away. If you prefer snacks, the hotel offers a selection in your room, but please be aware that they can be a bit pricey compared to prices in Hanoi.
The lavatory featured a Japanese-style toilet seat (although mine didn't work properly, except for flushing) and a bathtub.
The room itself was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. However, it's worth mentioning that the security could be improved, as anyone can access the upper floors using the other elevator from the basement.
Breakfast was provided for me on the ninth floor. Instead of a buffet spread, it was served as an à la carte set. I recommend sitting outside to enjoy the lovely view of West Lake.
There are numerous restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel, so you don't have to worry about venturing too far for dining options.
In conclusion, I highly recommend staying at Parosand Hanoi Hotel & Apartment if you prefer a tranquil area near West Lake, desire a room with a kitchen, seek an affordable price, and appreciate having a variety of nearby...
Read moreWe moved to this hotel after a less than great night at a nearby hotel. The location is ideal if you want to be near the lake or have business with an embassy. The lake is a 30 second walk, the embassies 10 minutes or so. There is a large grocery story (VinMart) a short walk away.||||The room has a large sitting area, work desk, full kitchen with a household-size refrigerator/freezer, and the bed is very comfortable as are the pillows. The bed area can be sectioned off by closing a floor-to-ceiling curtain between it and the lounge area -- convenient when your travel companion wants to get up early to work (and turn on all the lights).||||The bathroom includes a full-size tub and a Japanese toilet (i.e., heated seat and built in bidet with multiple options).||||We were there in the midst of the pandemic so occupancy was low. Rather than a breakfast buffet they provided us with a menu that included a very large selection of items ranging from Western standards to Vietnamese standards. You won't go hungry from lack of options.||||Evenings in the rooftop restaurant includes groups of local youth taking selfies of themselves in the 'fancy' surroundings. Worth an evening drink for the beautiful lake view as well as the people watching.||||Staff were great, food was very good and prices in the mini bar were entirely reasonable. Coffee, tea, drinking water and a FULL breakfast are included.||||If this location fits your needs when visiting Hanoi, I cannot recommend it...
