The Hoa Vang Riverside Villa is more like a homestay than a hotel. We had a view overlooking the river which made for a pleasant outlook. Many of the rooms do not have such a view. There was a pleasant riverside walk of about 800m to reach the 'Old Town' area.|The room was very comfortable, with a comfortable bed. When we booked the room was not advertised as having a safe, but there was one present which was excellent from a peace of mind perspective. It had air conditioning which was great given the temperature and humidity while we were staying.|The host is extremely pleasant and helpful. We were greeted with a drink and the offer of information about Hoi An. In discussions with the owner we received information about tailors, restaurants and activities, all of which proved helpful. Nothing was too much trouble and we just needed to ask and the host obliged. On a hot day the host even drove us to one local location we wanted to get to in their own vehicle without charge.|The breakfast was selected from a menu with freshly squeezed fruit juice, a range of cooked options, fresh fruit platter and excellent coffee. The food was all freshly prepared. We never left hungry. |There was an excellent 'Japanese owned' restaurant almost next door which provided an convenient dining option.|For people wanting a less commercial holiday the Hoa Vang Riverside Villa provides a relaxing alternative with a nice host...
Read moreThis was my first trip to Vietnam. I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. It's walking distance from Old Town Hoi Ann and surrounding area, but it's not so close the night time tourist stuff is a bother.
The room was excellent. Bed comfortable, VERY effective air conditioning and good WiFi which came in handy when work decided to start messaging me during my time off. Bathroom and floors are marble, and toiletries are provided. (Be warned Vietnam sewer system doesn't deal with "paper" so a bin is provided but it's a better idea to just get used to the "gun".)
Now for the really good stuff. The owner (and the family that runs the place) welcomed me in as though I was family. That helped a lot, especially with the issue I had with payment cards on my first two days where I thought I wasn't going to have any money. The owner's husband very kindly drove me to the main bank branch in Hoi An to help fix that one.
They do laundry, at approx 30k VND per kg. When I went in August that was a life saver since it was so humid I was changing clothes twice a day.
It's not exaggerating to say this place was one of the main highlights of my first ever trip to Vietnam, and south-east asia generally. In fact they did save my trip in a major way.
In short, highly recommended! I would...
Read moreI’d been attempting to stay many times since early 2020, but due to all the travel restrictions and ongoing flight cancellations resulting from the pandemic, then for very personal reasons, I’ve only just been able to get to Vietnam and stay. I was greeted by the owner upon arrival who although happy to meet me, reminded me twice on my first day of the many cancellations I’d been forced to make, which after a long journey, was hurtful and unnecessary. That aside, Hoa Vang Riverside Villa is a like a home away from home just under a 10 min pleasant walk from the lovely but very crowded (at eve & night) old town river front area. The owner offered help with any travel arrangements or advice I might need. My room with views overlooking the river from the balcony was wonderful particularly at sunrise & the evening watching the world go by. The bed was comfortable, air con worked great and the wet room had a good hot water supply with rainforest shower. Refrigerator, electric kettle and mugs provided but no tea or coffee. Breakfast was included and was pre ordered the evening before from a good menu selection. Included was also a freshly cut plate of fruit. All items were tasty. I had a good time at Hoa Vang and would recommend the place with five stars despite the awkward...
