La Gai Homestay Hoi An — Hotel in Hội An

We had a great stay with this lovely hospitable family. We extended our stay by a couple days meaning we had to switch rooms (upgraded with a balcony) which they were more than happy to accommodate and even moved all our stuff whilst we were out for the day. On every entry and exit they were asking about our day, any plans we’d had and if they could help with anything, even waiting up to greet us back into their home at night. Rooms were a great size, clean and secure. Beds were a decent double size, semi firm mattress with comfy duvet and pillows. Any requests you have they will try their best to accommodate. Location was perfect, 26 walk or a short taxi ride to the old town and short ride to Ang Bang beach which boasts fantastic beach bars. If I could give 10 stars, I would. I came in late at night with no reservation, and they still accepted me without issues. Long is an amazing host and made me feel very much at home, always sympathetic to any issues I've had that he fixed right away. I stayed on the top floor, and you can't hear anything that's happening downstairs, very quiet (although the house next door has a rooster, so maybe sleep with ear plugs). Good, comfy beds. They can even do your laundry, and the price is very fair (25K for 1 kg). There's free water refils down in the kitchen that really helps in the hot Hoi An weather. I really enjoyed my stay here. The room is really reasonably priced, very clean and has lovely facilities. I was really comfortable and regret not staying longer. The owner is really welcoming and lovely and makes sure you feel at home. There are also free water refills which are great! I like the location as it's close to the old town (maybe 20 mins walking, 5 mins by bike) but not right in the centre where it can be really loud and busy. The environment felt really nice and calm as a result. You're also very close to the beach and can rent scooters and bikes from the owner too which makes things a lot easier.
