Glenwood City Resort — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

One word, EXCELLENT. From Mr. Loc (restaurant manager), his right hand man Tang, & his right hand girl, to Ms. Oanh (Guest Services Manager and overall boss lady) to Mr. Chau, the GM, to the lovely employees in reception, everyone and everything about Glenwood Residences are exceptional. Mr. The, Ms. Vien, Mr. Tam, Ms. Ha, and one can never forget Mr. Sang (he's awesome and works late afternoon & evenings) are a cut above. They are all kind, honest, and attractive! :-) The food at Mr. Locs restaurant Niche is amazing (try the egg rolls and the clay pot with fish or pork), excellent wine, fresh juice, and selection of beverages! The pool, gym, Spa, Sauna, and security are all amazing. The actual rooms, well...just see the other photos. Unlike other properties, they look even better in person! Housekeeping is excellent and does a fantastic job. The location? In the lovely and amazing Thao Dien, you are 10 minutes from District 1 (Saigon's downtown), but unless you have business there you need not go, why? The reason is because the organic quality food is here in Thao Dien in the highly desired and best Real Estate in all on Vietnam, District 2 baby! You will LOVE Niche here at Glenwood, Papagayos, The Deck, The White House, Biacraft, Buddha Bar, The Last Drop, Villa Songs restaurant on the river, Mekong Merchant, and on and on, just a delightful place to live for a day, a week, or a lifetime. I can not recommend Glenwood Residences, District 2 and Thao Dien highly enough if there were 6 stars I would gladly give the 6. Service staff spoke fluent English and were so helpful and positive. Anything they could do to make our stay more comfortable, they did, above and beyond. We enjoyed our time there so much we booked it a second time and brought our mom along. Yes there were internet issues (but everyone had them because we were there during a big holiday) but it was promptly fixed. We stayed in the Airbnb building which still offered daily turn-down service, in an apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, spacious and open living room and kitchen overlooking the pool area. (They have luxury residences and proper hotel rooms as well.) There’s a lot to park your motor bike in or a few spots for rental cars. The restaurant on site was a little pricey but the drinks and attentive staff made up for it. We will be recommending to all of our family and friends. As for the location, it’s a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of central Thao Dien but it fit our desire to have a peaceful location. Just a quick 5-10 min walk to plenty of restaurants, markets, beauty services, medical services, pet food stores, etc. We wanted for nothing especially as it is directly next door to a Winmart, if we needed any last...

Beware: They will charge you 30K for the bottled water in the fridge. Only the 2 bottles of water on the counter are complimentary. They did not make it apparent to customers.

Reception is located at the left of the restaurant. Small and hidden by the trees.

Counter speaks good English and friendly.

Facility is NOT a “resort”. It’s more like a motel. Many soap/shampoo dispensers are broken, hardware should be replaced.

Room is relatively clean and comfortable. Air conditioning is good.

Electricity requires room key inserted at the door slot. So you can’t charge your devices while away. Get 2 room keys if required.

Location: Close to international schools and there is a street filled with bars and restaurants about 10 mins walk. Side walk is broken and very dirty.

Breakfast is A La Carte. Fruit is good. Fruit juice is more like sugar water. Expect 10 min cooking time.

There is a snail restaurant next to the hotel. Interesting experience and good value for 200K to 400K per person.
