Hotel Nhu Y 2 — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

I do recommend this hotel. They have 300k rooms facing a big road (there is a restaurant there that plays music late into the night) and bigger rooms at 400k facing the quiet side (a street in a residential area and a park.) There is a fridge in the room (unfortunately, every time you leave the room and take the key card out, it switches off and hence melts off and becomes wet inside). The shower was perfect, though: a rare thing in Vietnam, the shower is separated from the rest of the bathroom with a door. Well done! The bed was comfy as well. The receptionist speaks some English, which was very helpful for me, who doesn't speak any Vietnamese. The only downside, I would say, is the fact that maids sit in the stairs, they even eat sitting in the stairs. Not convenient for the people who want to use the stairs. We were supposed to arrive by 10pm. As our plane was delayed, we arrived by 00:30. To warn them, we wrote an e-mail and tried to call them several times between 8pm and 10pm. When we arrived at the hotel, our booking was cancelled since 30mns. The guy told us that someone came after midnight and took our room. Morever, he told us the hotel was now full except one unique room. This room, obviously, was twice more expensive than the one we were supposed to have.

Run away ! Even for one night! Check in was until 10 p.m. but we arrived after midnight because our plane was late. We tried to contact the hotel several times to inform them of our delay. Arrived at the hotel we learned that our reservation has been cancelled. We therefore find ourselves without a room facing an inflexible staff. We had to pay for a new and more expensive room because our room was directly reserved as soon as it was canceled. What a successful hotel !
