Kin Wander Tan Quy — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

This hotel is located at district 7 and need 30mins (depending on traffic) car ride to the city centre. Otherwise it is a quiet district to stay in. Our room was on the top floor, it's like a one bed room service apartment. Very spacious with a big screen and projector. We liked it very much. The staffs are very friendly and approachable despite speaking limited English. Her recommendations of a local restaurant was good and within walking distance. The only feedback I have - we need to call the hotel (there is a number beside the gate) when we arrive for them to open the gate for us. Unfortunately both our roaming decided to fail on us and we have no network to call. We almost had to get a local passerby to help us call when one of the staff who just happen to arrive for work tap open the gate to let us in. Perhaps there can be a better way for guests to enter the premises on arrival. As we are early for our check in, they are ok for us to leave our luggages at the reception so that we can head out for lunch. It’s really an apartment-style hotel, so there is no breakfast, no daily room cleaning, etc. Overall, I was disappointed with my stay here and checked out two days early. It’s on a side street of a noisy urban neighborhood (there was loud drinking and karaoke across the street late into the night both nights). The front desk is not visible from the front gate. You have to call them on your phone to open the outside gate for you. But what if your phone is unable to make calls? I had to contact my travel agency to ask them to call the hotel front desk for me; with my phone battery low after 10+ hours of travel, it was unnecessary added stress. The price is fair, but after two nights I decided to check out two days early; I asked for one day’s refund, they declined (which is their right according to their policy). Not...
