Extremely Disappointing Stay – Poor Service & Dishonest Staff
I stayed at M Village Living Cửu Long for one full month (Jan 17 - Feb 16, 2025) after choosing only M Village hotels throughout my stay in Vietnam. While my previous experiences were satisfactory, my last stay was a major disappointment due to unprofessional behavior, poor cleanliness, and dishonesty from the staff.
Poor Hygiene & Ant Infestation At check-in, my room was dirty, with hair all over the floor, a poorly cleaned kitchen, and an ant infestation. The photos I took document the condition.
When I raised this issue with the receptionist (Mai), she dismissed my concerns, stating, "This is not a hotel." She implied that because it was a "Living" property, the cleanliness standards were lower. However, this is unacceptable for a 3-star accommodation.
After insisting on a solution, they eventually changed my room. However, even in the new room, there was an ant infestation. At that point, I simply gave up and accepted the situation, realizing that guest complaints were not taken seriously.
The infestation was so severe that I had to be extremely careful with food. One time, I left some chocolates on the table, and they were completely invaded by ants. Unfortunately, I ate a couple before realizing they were crawling inside—it was a disgusting experience.
Even though I only recorded a video showing one ant, there were many more throughout my stay. I eventually gave up trying to document them all because it was a constant issue.
Unprofessional and Aggressive Check-Out Treatment On my check-out day (Feb 16), I was due to leave at 12:00 PM. At 12:08 PM, while I was putting on my shoes to exit, the receptionist aggressively knocked on my door without any prior message or courtesy call. It was unnecessarily forceful and hostile, making me feel extremely uncomfortable.
What made this situation worse?
While waiting for my taxi in the reception area, I saw other guests checking out at 12:15 and even 12:20 without issue. I was already leaving for the airport and had no intention of staying longer. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the receptionist ignored me, refused to make eye contact, and did not even offer a basic farewell. Misinformation & Lack of Accountability After reporting the incident, management initially responded but later ignored my follow-up messages. Instead of acknowledging the issue, they claimed that:
The receptionist had sent me a message about check-out (This is false—I checked my WhatsApp history, and no such message was ever sent). They were "fully booked" and needed to clean my room (Yet, other guests checked out later without being rushed). Screenshots attached confirm that no message was sent before the aggressive knocking. The only message I received was hours later, asking if I wanted them to keep my leftover food. If they were truly fully booked, why did they have time to worry about my eggs and yogurt?
Final Verdict: A Poorly Managed Property That Prioritizes Cover-Ups Over Guest Experience I was not asking for compensation—only a simple acknowledgment of the issue and an apology. Instead, M Village chose to ignore my concerns and protect their staff's unacceptable behavior.
If you value professionalism, honesty, and respect from hotel staff, I strongly recommend reconsidering your stay here.

Read moreWe got the basic room, which matches the price advertised on Google. The room was tidy, and the staff were nice. However, there were a few issues that I think people should know about. We were not notified of the issues at any point and found them ourselves: The room we got came with a window hidden behind a curtain that wouldn’t shut and let lots of mosquitos in. We had to pay an extra 250k to get a room with windows that shut. We ended up paying to switch because it was the middle of the night. The room we got upgraded to had sealed windows, but it also had exposed nails from unfinished diy projects.
I would recommend staying at a different hotel, especially for the price we paid just to have a room with functioning windows. This definitely does not match the expectations set by their advertisements and google reviews. Additionally, maybe not an issue for others, but they had incense burning downstairs, which trickled up to our room. I thought it was going to be for just an hour or two, but it burned all night, which made it a little hard for me to breathe well and sleep. I woke up with a sore throat from this.
In total, we paid about 1 million for...
Read moreEverything about the room is good except the air conditioner. iBook the most expensive room, which is the bedroom with one living room. The air conditioner in the living room has a problem. The water dripped the whole night. I need to solve a problem by using the towel to put on the fridge and increase the temperature. It was midnight so I did not bother to call the staff. The room is clean and very spacious. The lobby staff are very friendly and the housekeeping girl is very helpful. If you look at the map, the hotel is in a small road.. if you take a look from the main road, you will see the spa. Walk into the end, the hotel is on the right there is no parking space for the car. If you drive, the staff will tell you where to move your car and parked overnight. The hotel provides drinking water in the lobby. You can come down and refill by yourself at any time. There are only 2 holes plug sockets in the room. You need to ask for electrical extension cord from the front desk. The appliances in the kitchen work fine. Overall, I enjoy my stay....
