De Huong Duong residences — Hotel in Hue City

This hotel is complete false advertising in terms of the rooms and facilities. We had booked a suite with a terrace, city monument view, river view and access to a shared kitchen and living room but when we arrived we were checked in at essentially a building site and shown to a bare room with it’s only window blocked by a board of some sort from the outside, letting in very little light. We immediately went back to the “reception” area hoping there had been a mistake but had a hard time getting the room changed and were told there were no other rooms available. After a lengthy conversation we were eventually brought to a new room that magically became available. This room was still very basic and did have a window, but as we left the hotel staff told us the AC in the room was broken and moved us again. The 3rd and final room finally looked similar to the pictures online (probably the only one like that), but still was not what we had booked in terms of the size and there was no terrace or access to shared kitchen / living space.

From reading reviews online I had expected the building to be a bit rough and ready, particularly at that price but the fact that the photos and description advertised were completely false is absolutely unacceptable and should not...

We paid for a 'suite with a city view' and were put into a small room with a board covering the window. The woman at reception said there were no other rooms available despite us having paid for a better room. Eventually she moved us to two different rooms before we got something close to what we had paid for. The photos are extremely misleading and the reception area was a construction site which wasn't good for guests. I woke up to a heavy storm in Da Nang and travel warnings not to travel. It was worse in Hue where this hotel is. At 10am I tried to cancel and at least get a 50% refund. This hotel knew the weather warnings but was not interested. I told the hotel we will stay after the storm. They have kept the price of 2 rooms for 3 days. Free money for them. Nice little earner.
