Booked 7 nights at Phuong Hoa. Had to check in at Queen hotel round the corner, apparently they have 6 hotels that work together. ||They made us move after one night to Queen Hotel, no idea why as we'd booked Phuong Hoa. Very annoying as the room was better in PH and the wifi was better.|Because we were made to leave, I accidentally left a top and skirt in the wardrobe.. Realised the next day and they weren't there. The new guest in the room didn't have them and the cleaner said she "didn't look in the closet" - one of them was lying! I think the cleaner had taken them. My own fault for leaving them, but we shouldn't have had to move hotels anyway. I was so annoyed and just wanted my clothes back!||This hotel is around 1km from the centre, where there are actually less Russians. There are a lot everywhere anyway.||The only good things are the girl on reception in Queen Hotel is very friendly and helpful and tries her best. She did the best she could do when my clothes went missing. Also we got early check in. |The rooms are clean and comfortable, sadly everything else lets the hotel down. That's why they just about get two stars from me.||I wouldn't...
Read moreRooms are large but dark as the one window we had was 2 inches away from a concrete wall allowing zero light in. Beds were hard and not overly comfortable but normal for Vietnam. The shower was broken, which meant trickles of luke-warm water and holding it up yourself. WiFi was pretty shocking too, constantly having to reset the router but the noise of all the Chinese guests was what topped it for me as the worst place we’ve stayed in in Vietnam. 5:45am is what seems like their ideal time to let the kids scream in the corridors and all open their doors to yell at each other in their rooms. The guy on reception merely told me ‘don’t worry they are checking out today’ A.K.A deal with it yourself and the housekeeping comes at 9am so if you enjoy a lie-in, don’t expect one here. |The location is the only plus as it’s a road away from the beach, on a street full of great food, walking distance to the best bars and cafes, including ‘Cheers’ bar which is literally a backpackers dream for a western food treat! |Overall, don’t bother because even for a budget hotel you’ll pay an extra $2 for a better place...
Read moreThe rooms are large clean and very cheap. The location is fantastic There's a really good, reasonably priced restaurant right outside and the beach is a 2 minute walk away.||The level of noise here has caused us to leave early. There is construction work happening all around the hotel, which starts at 630am every morning. Also, work is being done on one of the rooms so again, banging begins very early morning. Although the staff are friendly, they hardly speak a word of English. Russian seems to be The known language here so if you don't speak Russian or Vietnamese, be prepared to use your mobile internet to translate, or struggle. They also lock the doors at 1130pm every night. We had a night out and got back around 2am. We had to ring the door bell and wake someone up to let us in. This kind of makes you feel bad, like you have to be in before the gates close.||Also please note: you have to check in at Queen Hotel next door. Nobody mannes the reception desk at Phuong Hao and therefore you cannot ring reception from...
