Very disappointed to the manager & staffs here! Staffs are really not trustworthy here & the manager do not accept that their people made mistake!! Be careful if you choose this hotel…!!We left our villa 11am while there’re one man one lady came in to start cleaning the villa, the man was cleaning rooms on 2F. After a long full day schedule we back to our villa at 11pm, my daughter burst out crying loudly holding her beloved sleeping bunny handki that she used for 8yrs since born, it was totally torn & damaged with cotton leak out also, as well as another unicorn plushie’s leg also got cut!! They all look like it’s purposely damaged by PEOPLE!! It was super heartbreaking to my girl, so we call to front desk and a man came to just take few photos and said he is just doing the night shift, and will notify manager the next day, also because he doesn’t really understand English, it was hard to communicate…!The next day, no one approach us until we finished breakfast & ask at front desk, Manager Thu replied us that they will investigate & ask their staffs, meanwhile just offer my girl to go pick a doll from their gift shop (which I rejected cus it’s no way could replace her 8yrs bunny) and said we can send the dolls to laundry service to help sew it back………. But we need an answer more than a new doll. Why it’s being cut & destroy like that!?!? This is a 5 star hotel, is this acceptable? We just feel who ever damage & cut these kid’s plushie is really psychopath!A day after, NO further approach until I ask & chase for answer, on last day when we check out, manager Thu only replied us non-sense answer saying their staffs did not do it & it could be by animal…(!?!?) and because no camera so they cannot find out who did it. We were very shocked hearing such answer, if there’s no camera then why she would believe 100% what the staffs said that they didn’t do anything in the room destroy kid’s plushy? We were out WHOLE DAY, only hotel staffs can access our room right? She further said it could be animal, which is even more ridiculous as we lock all door n window doors, even if it’s a mouse they will choose to bite the food on table but not a kid’s plushy right?Over all, the hotel manager & staffs are really irresponsible & not helpful at all. All their English standard are low & not quite understand what I said! This hotel facilities for kids are very limited the kids club room is super small and not fun to them. I do not such family with young kids to here.PS. When we left with all our luggage’s on the buggy, that driver turn around so rush & our big Rimowa luggage got swing away on floor far behind that the driver had to pull off baggage n ran back to pick it. Things inside were all mess but luckily we didn’t put anything fragile items inside but there were a big scratch on our black luggage when we reach airport...
Read moreWe are absolute Asia experts and have already stayed in the best hotels in Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia, so I would like to make it clear right from the start that any negative criticism will be nitpicking. Let's start with the thoroughly positive things. The villas with pools, the entire hotel complex and the surrounding area are a dream. Truly outstanding. The villas are modern, large and very well thought out. The garden is very well maintained and the pool is excellent. Nothing to complain about. Check-in and check-out were also very well organized and went quickly and smoothly! Now let's get to the negative points. First of all, for a 5-star hotel that mainly accommodates families with children, it is very weak to offer almost exclusively activities for children in the kids' club for a fee. At this level and in comparison to many others, this is weak. Not being able to get hot chocolate for children in the restaurant is also something that could be improved and is weak. Overall, I am very disappointed with the restaurant. The staff seem lazy and we never once had to wait more than 15 minutes for our coffee. I also think it's very weak to offer bad juices in a country like Vietnam and in a hotel of this standard!! I was very disappointed! The orange juice was diluted with water and warm. And the other juices were all diluted with water too. In general, the selection of juices was poor. Yogurt products and cereals were almost non-existent. Overall, the breakfast was just OK for a hotel of this kind... but nothing more. Another negative point, which I experienced for the first time in this form, is the fact that there is no in-villa dining between 9:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.!!!! Nothing! If you feel hungry or thirsty after 9:30 p.m. you have to resort to Grab. These are major points that need to be improved! Apart from that, everything else was...
Read moreI’d prefer to rate this hotel at 3.5* if I could; the hotel is perfectly nice, almost clinically so, and I think therein lies the problem. We’d travelled from Hanoi to Ninh Binh to Halong Bay…and arriving at Phu Quoc we realised that something wasn’t quite right…||The island has been overdeveloped - bastardised almost - by real estate investors buying up land and building almost Disney land-esque resorts and towns and weirdly creating replica European towns and cities, only to find out that some form of demand evaluation was likely necessary after all and the crowds eventually may (and did) not come. As a result most major developments in and around the island are wholly empty, resulting in ghost towns far and wide across the island. The Sailing Club resort has been a victim of this, with the shoreline beach resorts akin to a ghost town. If you’re happy only staying in the confines of the hotel then you’ll have a perfectly lovely stay, the facilities and villas really are very good, but if you plan to use the resort beach club then prepare to be disappointed. There is nothing about this hotel that relates to sailing or sea/beach life, it’s just a name, so don’t be fooled by that.||It’s worth having a plan if you’re staying here; the Buddhist temple and prison are worth visiting, and the snorkelling tours on the island are excellent. Go out and find decent restaurants by the beach and you’ll find that life outside of the resorts are a lot more enjoyable and authentic, but stick to the hotel and resort only and there’s nothing authentic about the hotel at all. Very few western tourists were here, even less Vietnamese, and there was an abundance of South Korean and Japanese tourists.||The nearby beach was littered and dirty, pretty miserable in fact. We have cleaner and more enjoyable beaches in England. I’d recommend Sao Beach as a far superior...
