We ended up staying here twice in one week as the location was very good and the facilities were good. The first time we stayed our room was directly off the common area and we found it a bit too noisy, however we gave it the benefit of the doubt and went back for one more night later in the week as a pit stop from our travels. This was a terrible decision. We were in a different room from the first time so I was hopeful that we would get a better night sleep. It was a Monday night so I was expecting it to be quiet, however, the noise was unbearable - people shrieking, shouting and drunkardly singing from outside the building and inside. This continued until 3AM. Things eventually quietened down but we then had the pleasure of listening to someone vomit and moan four times outside of our bedroom (we were next to the toilets). I have stayed in many hostels but this was a truly awful nights sleep. In total we had 3 and half hours sleep as we had to be up early to catch our next bus. I booked through Bookings.com and my booking confirmation stated that we received a free breakfast with our booking. We ordered our breakfast from the menu but were then told we had to pay. I showed my email confirmation to the staff on reception and was told that this offer wasn't included with our room. When I showed them further proof that our booking included a free breakfast, staff told me that Bookings.com have been telling people lies about them. After much debate, we eventually got our money back for the breakfast but I was not impressed with...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the super nice hostel and I must say, it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the workers were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home.
The cleanliness of the hostel was impeccable - every corner was spotless and well-maintained. I was impressed by how well the staff kept everything in order, making sure that the common areas and rooms were always in top condition.
One of the highlights of my stay was the beautiful pool area. It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the city. The pool was clean and inviting, and I loved spending my afternoons lounging by the water.
The kitchen at the hostel was also amazing. It was fully equipped with everything I needed to cook my own meals, which was a great way to save money while traveling. The communal atmosphere in the kitchen also made it easy to strike up conversations with other guests, creating a sense of community that I really appreciated.
Overall, my experience at the super nice hostel was nothing short of fantastic. From the friendly staff to the clean facilities, and the amazing pool and kitchen, I left feeling totally positive about my stay. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming...
Read moreWhen I arrived at TAZARA Railway late at night, I checked in here. We did not make a reservation in advance, but we had been shown dormitory and single room that room was vacant. If there is a room available, you can check in without any problems.
It was within walking distance to downtown, so the access was not bad and I didn't feel the security was bad around the place. Wifi didn't reach to our room, so we needed to use it in a common space. But it wasn't painful to sit for a long time because it was comfortable to stay there with comfortable chairs. There was a also washing machine, so I could ask to wash my clothes with 20 kwacha.
I was worried about the cleanliness of the towels and sheets. At first I didn't realized, but when the towels and sheets became a little damp, they started to smell badly.
However, the overall impression was very good because the receptionist was friendly and helped me with various arrangements.
Lusaka is nothing to do, but not a bad option for using this place as a stopover. I will recommend this place if anybody come to visit...
