Read moreIf I lived in Adelaide, this the neighbourhood I’d live in and cafe(s)/restaurants I’d constantly be dining at. Set in the old Clipsal building in Bowden, Plant 4 (along with neighbouring Plant 3) is surrounded by park space, a children’s playground, and contains cafes and restaurants galore upstairs and downstairs, with a huge hall-like seating area inside, and outdoor seating around the building. It also has an IGA supermarket connected. (Check out their website for venue map).
I had a delicious, and cheesy, Gozleme from Ozzie Gozleme and a coffee from Nutrition Republic. The staff at both places were nice.
They have Night Markets every Friday and from what I’ve been told there is outdoor cinema nights in the connected park.
Great for families, couples or the sole trader who just wants to enjoy the inviting atmosphere while doing some work on their laptop.
It’s close to the tram stop and train station. Street parking is limited and only good for a couple hours. But, for now, visitors can park in the Emily lot across from Plant 4 on Third Street (entrance on Second Street).

Read moreWe had such a great time at Plant 4 in Adelaide! From the moment we walked in, we loved the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The space is open, vibrant, and full of character—perfect for spending a few hours catching up with friends, grabbing a bite, or just soaking in the local vibe.
The burger we had was absolutely next level—juicy, packed with flavor, and cooked to perfection. Honestly one of the best we’ve had in a long time. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and that the people behind the food care about what they’re serving. There are also plenty of options for different tastes and diets, which is always a plus.
One of the things we really appreciated was how family-friendly the place is. There’s a great little playground just outside, which kept the kids happy and entertained while we relaxed. It’s rare to find a spot that feels so balanced—great food, great design, and thoughtful touches that make it comfortable for everyone.
Overall, Plant 4 is more than just a food stop—it’s a whole experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s definitely worth a visit. We’ll be coming...
