If I lived in Adelaide, this the neighbourhood I’d live in and cafe(s)/restaurants I’d constantly be dining at. Set in the old Clipsal building in Bowden, Plant 4 (along with neighbouring Plant 3) is surrounded by park space, a children’s playground, and contains cafes and restaurants galore upstairs and downstairs, with a huge hall-like seating area inside, and outdoor seating around the building. It also has an IGA supermarket connected. (Check out their website for venue map). I had a delicious, and cheesy, Gozleme from Ozzie Gozleme and a coffee from Nutrition Republic. The staff at both places were nice. They have Night Markets every Friday and from what I’ve been told there is outdoor cinema nights in the connected park. Great for families, couples or the sole trader who just wants to enjoy the inviting atmosphere while doing some work on their laptop. It’s close to the tram stop and train station. Street parking is limited and only good for a couple hours. But, for now, visitors can park in the Emily lot across from Plant 4 on Third Street (entrance on Second Street). If my review helped please like, and follow me (I guess that’s a thing now).

Absolutely loved catching up here last night. Although I did forget to take photos of everything we had variety of foods. I love the atmosphere and that everyone can choose the type of foods that they feel like. The vegan options, are amazing and really warm inside on those cold nights. Francesco’c Cicchetti We had a tasting plate with lasagne, risotto, potato salad, polenta and beetroot salad. All of this was delicious. Ozzie Gozleme Great crepe tasting dish with feta and spinach 😋 Cakeboy Donuts Who doesn't love a good donut especially vegan ones. We got the twix one. So tssy. Caramel is very sweet for those that don't like things too sweet Joe Dumplings Fried cauliflower and dumplings. The cauliflower was devine and had a chilli mango sauce highly recommend BUT the dumplings although having a great taste were hard and chewy on the outside, all at our table had the same issue. Like they had been recooked. Live a little Everything was delicious need to go back and try others Chocolate hazelnut tart Pear and almond tart Pecan Pie are the 3 we all tried.

Went to celebrate Christmas with the kids Saturday night that had loud music playing only to have a lady with a group of 4 men scream at the kids to be quiet ( it was loud with music ) when I confronted them they admitted they told the kids not to be loud! I approached management to have management only to patronize me saying they said sorry and to move on!!! And they also brought security to stand over me, we were the ones being attacked !!! how do you move on when I had to deal with my 8 year old who has anxiety, crying and being traumatized from the whole experience !!! I am disgusted with management making it the fault of ours and the kids - it’s a public place it had loud music yet we felt we were to blame instead of asking them to leave since the music was loud! Um the music was so loud I couldn’t hear myself! Management was discriminating my kids, like that group of people did!!! I am disgusted - that the lady and her group abused my kids!! And management did nothing!!!! Disgusting

Plant 4 at Bowden situated between is an interesting and diverse venue offering so much. IGA, attached to Plant 4, is open every day. Good choice of products from frozen and fresh food to cleaning products including sticky tape to wrap presents and cards too! Nutrition Republic is open every day and open early. Plant based food. Good coffee and teas. Excellent smoothies, various choices. Plenty of seating inside & outside. Great staff, always friendly. There are so many different choices for food when Plant 4 is open for lunch and dinner. Kome Kome, a cafe serving excellent coffee and teas, several choices of sushi made fresh every day as well as a menu which includes various Japanese dishes is open early, at 7.30am for breakfast. You can be served with a more than adequate breakfast, excellent coffee all made with a smile served by Aki. Plant 4 also has Vegan, Vegetarian, Italian , Thai, Venetian Street Food, dumplings at Joe's Dumplings, pizzas, yummy desserts to name a few. Two bars, live music often supporting local performers throughout the year, seating inside and out. There are also several markets at Plant 4 during the year - Mothers Day, Christmas, art and craft markets, indoor and outdoor plant markets, fashion, to name a few. Plant 4 is also a wonderful venue for special celebrations such as weddings and significant birthdays. Check their Facebook page for upcoming events So much to offer...

We had such a great time at Plant 4 in Adelaide! From the moment we walked in, we loved the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The space is open, vibrant, and full of character—perfect for spending a few hours catching up with friends, grabbing a bite, or just soaking in the local vibe.

The burger we had was absolutely next level—juicy, packed with flavor, and cooked to perfection. Honestly one of the best we’ve had in a long time. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and that the people behind the food care about what they’re serving. There are also plenty of options for different tastes and diets, which is always a plus.

One of the things we really appreciated was how family-friendly the place is. There’s a great little playground just outside, which kept the kids happy and entertained while we relaxed. It’s rare to find a spot that feels so balanced—great food, great design, and thoughtful touches that make it comfortable for everyone.

Overall, Plant 4 is more than just a food stop—it’s a whole experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s definitely worth a visit. We’ll be coming...
