We went with friends for the first time last Saturday 12th October 2019. It is on every 2nd Saturday of each month. It was a beautiful sunny day and there were a lot of people there but there was plenty of car parking available. My advice - take more than one carry bag as I filled mine up quickly and had to make my husband run back to the car to unload and bring back an extra carry bag. All the produce is grown on the Fleurieu Peninsula and is so fresh. We bought various vegetables and the strawberries were super super fresh. I bought some fig & ginger jam for my mum who loved it and the apricot jam I bought for myself was jammed packed full of fruit. I couldn't get enough of the delicious cheeses and the smell of fresh bread was amazing. I bought dried pears that were plump and sweet. We left our husbands to go look for the almond stall which we were told about. They were selling 4 bags for $10 - all different flavours (even wasabi). We taste tested most of them and I wound up buying 8 bags !!! When I caught up with my husband (who never buys anything when we are out) I had to laugh as he had bought a large sultana grape vine in a pot, 2 large pots of honey, some beer from the Shifty Lizard Brewing company (love that name) and a hammer.... He loves that hammer !! It goes to show there is something for everyone.... After about 2 hours of wandering around, taste testing and buying, we sat down at a table and chairs and had a coffee and ate some cake that we had bought. The stallholders are all friendly and love to talk to you about their produce. The market is so alive with music and people having fun. I loved seeing people walking around with their dogs. I met some gorgeous dogs, got puppy kisses and gave pats and cuddles. It was a fantastic way to spend a Saturday morning and I can't wait to go back and do it...

I don't go very often, but when I do, it's always the same impression. It's good, certainly not brilliant, it's a small market, rather pricey, but very good quality which comes at a cost. My understanding of a market is that the prices would be competitive considering no middleman, but I didn't find that to be the case here. The market is well patronized, a good, cordial, atmosphere, regulars abound, a good catch-up with a coffee with friends before bidding adieu. Some time ago they blocked off the main street & had the stalls in the said street with easy access to the shops on either side of the sidewalk. It was brilliant, made the market appear more substantial & changed the ambience for the better. Don't know why they didn't maintain this concept, they reverted to the former way of it. In short, all very nice, pleasant way to spend a morning, parking okay, products & produce not cheap. I suggest one gives this market a try & find out for yourself, it is also suggested people come from far & wide to purchase these "gourmet" wares. Good, but not enough to entice me back on a regular...

We popped along for a second week in a row, experiencing too many people on Christmas eve and huge queues to get anything, be it a coffee or food to eat or even fresh fruit and vegetables. Today the wait was minimal. A lovely day, a lovely atmosphere. Unfortunately our request for rhubarb seedlings had been forgotten so we might have to return for a third visit next Saturday. I was hoping to get some reasonably priced honey, like $21 a tub back home at Rapid Creek market in Darwin. This time Kangaroo Island honey was $20 for a small jam jar making it extremely expensive. It won't put me off though. We did get some lovely fruit and vegetables at a...

We absolutely love coming to the markets. We are trying to pull ourselves away from the major supermarkets to support local farmers THEY NEED IT. very much tossing up getting a membership so we can visit regularly, support our farmers and local producers. I loved the coffee and Portuguese tarts, olive oil and bread. We took home some veggies and meat for our dinner. As well as some alpaca jerky for a snack 😋 Get there around 7:30-7:45am for the best parks and you can head straight to the favourite stalls. Amazing place! Lots to purchase, eat, drink and take home. Not just for your weekly shop ☺️💗✨

You just can’t beat Willunga Farmers Market for the best seasonal produce of South Australia. A chance to chat with the growers and ask questions, buy your ingredients often within 24 hrs of them being harvested. Once you taste the flavours that organic, local produce has to offer, you won’t go back! Hot Tip - Humble Grounds Cold Brew, order ahead to fuel you through the day! 🐾🌿
