I've been coming to the middle pub for a few years now, always a good place to grab a snitty and a beautiful topping. Never had a issue until tonight.. come in at 5:30 one of the first tables there mind you), we order, our kids meals and entrees come... over a hour later while we watch tables that were served way after us get their food before (quite bigger tables too) us we waited some more.. well over a hour.. mind you now the issues were already there. We did not infact order three garlic breads like the waitress (found out she's the owner which makes it 1000x times worse) get pissy at us and said we did. We did not infact and maybe for future reference read the customer's order back to them so it doesn't lead to confusion like every other place does..then the owner slams down the other entree on our table and says nothing while walking passed the table. Like who does that?? second, my daughter ordered the CHEESEburger and chips, I told her not to eat the burger (she's three) because it had no cheese??, the tiniest bit of sauce and the pattie oh my God, it was the driest and hardest pattie I have ever come across (I did try to taste it but oh my God it was pure horrid) How can you openly serve this to customers?! Shocked. Anyway, moving on.. well over a hour and our food finally comes and guess what?! My chips are stone cold and my snitty is barley warm! This place has gone so far down hill its so damn sad, plus the attitude of the female owner is absolutely disgusting! She gave me the filthiest look because I returned my food. She is so vile with her attitude and how she thinks she can treat customers who absolutely showed no attitude or rudeness towards her just a 'no sorry we didnt' it's not our fault our food got handed to us cold.. even the garlic bread was cold.. get a little busy and they can't seem to handle everyone and their orders..

But no I will not be eating cold food that I was served and waited well over a hour later for, I have to pay for that.. worst experience at a pub I've ever encountered.

She never even apologised in regards to our food and just gave us attitude that was the biggest problem. The lovely guy behind the counter apologised for everything and it's sad to see him apologising for how his owner/boss acts towards people..

Would not recommend this place to...

First time at this hotel. And had been really looking forward to it. A table of 8 of us..we booked for 1.30pm, and were told by the waitress/barmaid at 1.45pm that we would have to order quickly, as 'the chef has to knock off soon' lol! Not a good start. I decided on the Fettucine with Chicken, prawns, and a truffle sauce...well, it was just a bug gluggy mess. The pasta had obviously been cooking for hours! I asked for extra parmessan, and was charged an extra $2. When the waitress asked me if my meal was ok, and i gave her the drum...she just ignored me! One guest got chicken snitzel instead of beef, and the waitress was none too happy when it was pointed out. Another diner asked for her gravy to be put on the side in a small dish...but was presented with gravy slathered all over her snitzel. The serve of veggies was so ridiculously small, in a tiny dish on the side. My mush cost $27 which I don't mind paying for, but totally ripped off. No wonder the place was empty. We live locally, and eat out a lot...but will never be back. Don't go here!! Pub-fare...and the chef can't even get that right. One star for the lovely...

I had a terrible experience at this pub. My partner and I were waiting in the back carpark when I needed to quickly grab some things from the Butcher Shop across the road. As I walked through the front door, the manager, an older lady, greeted me in a very rude tone and accused me of walking through the pub. When I explained that I was just passing through, she continued to speak to me in a disrespectful manner.

I tried to address her rudeness by telling her that she was being rude, but that only made things worse. The manager then went so far as to come out into the carpark and take photos of our car's number plate, threatening to post them on Facebook. This was completely uncalled for and made us feel extremely uncomfortable.

As locals who used to frequent this pub often, this experience was extremely disappointing. We decided not to have lunch there and ended up going somewhere else. The way we were treated was unacceptable, and we won't be returning. It's a shame that such a negative encounter has tarnished our view of a place that used to be our go-to spot. Absolutely not ok, and our privacy feels...

Dinner on a Saturday Night the Willunga hotel seems to be the place to be. Very full Front bar as you walk in greated with many Faces. But seated reasonably quickly. We were told to order quickly as to not get behind the larger tables who were dining that night. Unfortunately the planned didn’t seem to work as we were left waiting for food after 2 large tables of 8-10 people. Upon getting our meals, presented well but unfortunately of it wasn’t deep fried its was on the cold side. Chicken Snitzel - Warm and tasty Salmon - tasty but lukewarm Neptune Steak - Cooked well, tasted great but was cold. Prawns were hot had to wait for them to cool down. Overall great place just seemed abit ran off there feet that night. Loosing a star for there food.

We went there for a lunch date and were pleasantly surprised. Jamie the FOH gentleman was lovely and welcoming, his service was fantastic. The wine list was decent and fairly priced. The menu had a lot of gluten free options which unfortunately I need … we both ordered the king Neptune dish (steak with seafood) at $38 each it did not disappoint. I feel like I had a seafood platter with steak and veggies with a delicious garlic sauce. compliments to the chef - my husband doesn’t like greens and he said they were perfectly cooked and ate the whole lot. Our steaks were spot on. Value for money, great little regional pub with an amazing menu and great service.

Fantastic country pub and dining experience is 5 stars. Michael & Romana serve the best steaks, seafood, schitzel's and daily fresh vegetables and salads this side of the black stump at Humbug Scrub! My wife Chrissy and myself eat there regulie and there is always so much to eat, we always have a little treat for our little dog Buddy when he is finished getting clipped at the "Pampered Pooch", Willunga. If you are in the area you have truly missed one of Willunga's treasures if you do not call in and say g'day and have some epic country cooking with the top local wines taboot....Anthony🦘
