Today we attended the âdinosaur safari eventâ at Rivermakers. When we arrived it was visibly busy, with car parks full and needing to go into the overflow parking lot. The dinosaur experiences for kids were done well; however, the overall experience at the venue was poor. The food ordering app stated food was a 20 minute wait, ours took almost 40 minutes to arrive and was served extremely cold.
The biggest frustration however was shade. A number of tables lined the venues with umbrellas, but you were lucky to get a table. After patiently waiting we secured a table and put up the umbrella. It was 30 degrees, and the sun was hot. Just after putting up the umbrella a staff member come and told us to put it down. Confused as to why we needed to put it down when we had 2 infants (a 6m old and a 4m old with us), we asked if we could kindly speak to a manager. The manager came over and told us the umbrellas cause issues with them flying away so they prefer them to be down on windy days, but said given the wind had calmed down heâd put it up for us (given how small our babies are). The manager we spoke with was lovely. Shortly after however another staff member came to put it down. When we advised him that weâd just spoke to a manager he said âoh well thatâs what I was toldâ. Communication between the staff is obviously not happening. Furthermore, the excuse of the umbrellas flying away was rather frustrating, especially when some tables were allowed to keep their umbrellas up. There was no other shaded areas around the venue besides these shaded tables, so people were relying on these umbrellas. Given the event was claimed to be family-friendly I was...
Read moreTerrible.......we arrived at the venue at 6.30pm last night , only to be told they had a function and we had been moved to another dining area, this area didn't have a view of the river like the one advertised. When we were seated, we were right next to the open doors, by the time the cheese tier arrived we were freezing , eventually they closed the doors , but of course every time someone walked in and out we felt the cold breeze. The high cheese arrived and there were no lamb and feta sliders and no goats cheese tarts , even though it was literally on the menu they gave us and which was also on the advertising! The pasta was advertised as having a chef come to your table and cook the pasta in a cheese wheel, this also did not happen! As for the pasta, we couldn't eat the carbonara as it was extremely salty! I booked and paid for this evening weeks ago for my wife's birthday as I saw it on tik tok and it looked great......I feel it was a complete rip off , absolutely nothing was as advertised, we were both utterly disappointed with the food and not being informed of venue changes and not having the theatre of having a chef cook at our table.....plus lights going on and off on a regular basis, complete Faulty Towers...

What's great is there are not too many earring or candle stalls offering a wider variety of products to choose from. The vendor with the small horsefloat and dried flowers was a nice change.
2 stars because traffic is rubbish, stopped for ages about 10mins out of the actual venue, all due to the markets.
Zero accessibility parking, the traffic control lady had no idea. Anyone with Mobility needs would have to walk a long way as there's zero parking close by. 15 - 20mins to walk in and out of the market. While they may deem it accessible, the sheer amount of people would make it difficult to move about.
Market is clogged by prams and dogs, congestion makes it hard to move around
Neuro diverse review. The sensory experience will be completely overwhelming with the sheer amount of noise and people.
If visiting go very...
