I wanted to love this so badly, but sadly it's one of the worst fish and chips meal we've had. I've read most of the reviews and heard how great this little place is, so we tried it on Friday evening. Ordered the "dinner for 4" fish n chips for takeaway dinner for my family. At $72, I think it's reasonable if the quality is great. Home was a quick 5mins drive from the shop, unpacked the goods. Fish was a great golden brown colour, but soooo greasy and oily. Fish was on top of the chips, which was also very oily, soggy and just not cooked enough. The chips was just a pale, sad colour - not even salted or seasoned. Calamari was delicious, again very oily and soggy. No crunch or crispness in any of the fish, chips or calamari. The coleslaw, is not coleslaw at all but a mere bowl of shredded cabbage - no sight of carrots or onions. Given that it's a Friday evening, it seems that the food was simply rushed in cooking due to number of diners BUT this can't be an excuse. Service is great and attentive, such a shame food can't be given the same review. Just missed...

This establishment started out well. I have been going for years but in recent times it seems portions have become smaller and prices remain premium. The piece of fish the served me recently was quite tough although the calamari was tender. With one or two exceptions the service has been lacklustre. There is one female staffer who seems to care more but it seems the owners are happy to employ minimum wage juniors and fail to train them to be warm and friendly. Yesterday my wife and I had lunch here for the first time. We have been customers of Three Girls Skipping since it started, so we were keen to try this new venture. We were not disappointed. We ordered whiting with salad and chips, plus a plate of calamari. The latter was cooked just right and we felt guilty not finishing it. However the whiting meals were very filling.
