Definitely a French restaurant worth revisiting! The staff were lovely and non-intrusive, good ambience and nice selection of wines.

Was pleasantly surprised by how balanced all the flavours were, the chef definitely pays attention to detail and you can tell that the team at Boucher are passionate about delivering good food!

We enjoyed the following entrees, all of which I would reorder: Roquefort soufflĂ©, this was paired well with the walnuts foie gras, smaller serving but well paired with I think it’s pumpkin puree over a brioche bread? steak tartare, not mind blowing but definitely a well done balanced tartare

Stand out: bouillabaisse - I’m biased as it’s my favourite soup but it’s a must for all seafood lovers. Strong tomalley, thick and rich, generous large serving (best shared between 2-3) with plentiful seafood. Especially enjoyed the bugs in this and the large prawns w the prawn heads still attached.

Also ordered: Black Angus: everything complimenting this steak was fantastic and paired well with each other, but the steak itself fell a bit short as it was much tougher/drier than I was expecting. Regardless I was so happy/impressed with the rest of the plate that it can be disregarded.

Confit duck w pear and French lentils - duck falls off the bone easily and paired well with the pear. Generous serving size. We were a bit full at this point 😅

Cauliflower gratin- deeeelicioud side, would definitely reorder this cheesy creamy side.

Apple tarte tartine was yum, very sweet caramel but yum nether the less.

Hope to try their chateau briand next time, opted against it as we were definitely too hungry to wait 1.5hr for it (the time it takes to prepare it).

Will defs be back for the bouillabaisse- even by myself on a winter night it’d be perfect

UPDATE NOV 2023: came back to try to chateau briand. Absolutely delightful, fkn massive serving idk what they mean about “2 people serving”, thank god we didn’t double up for our table of 6 HAHAHA. It was so tasty, the lyonnaise potatoes were DELICIOUS. Absolutely worth noting that you want this when you make the booking or call up as it takes 1.5hrs to prepare. bouillabaisse still tastes the same and delicious everything is consistent with our last visit, excellent service, excellent attention to detail in the food on all aspects, cosy neighbourhood vibes-...

The worst restaurant experience I have ever had on 19 November. I booked well in advance for my parents 60th wedding anniversary at 7pm. I was never told about sittings until a week or two out from the night when I was told they would honour the 7pm booking . On the day I was told by the owner that they would not honour 7pm. I asked the owner what time should we turn up to be seated straight away - he said turn up at 7.15pm. I stressed that day (and many times prior) my father is 86yrs and on a walker - I was assured he would be seated straight away and would be kept comfortable. I rang all my guests and changed the time. Instead when we arrived my father and my other 9 guests (only 4 of us could fit in the bar) were left in the dark on the footpath for 45 minutes. The restaurant said the earlier sitting guests overstayed at our table. Apparently the restaurant has sittings they do not enforce. Also the sitting rule did not apply to a long mezzanine table (next to our table) where the guests had been for some time and were drunk and loud. These other guests were so loud we could not hear each other speak or our waitress. When we asked the staff to please ask the noisy table to decrease their volume the staff told us they could not possibly do that. I find it bizarre that the staff had no problem leaving an 86 year old man – who was supposed to be celebrating his 60th wedding anniversary - on a walker in the dark on the footpath for 45 minutes but they felt it was wrong to tell a bunch of drunk diners to stop screaming. We got our entrees (yeah) but then had to wait, listening to the screaming diners, for well over an hour for our mains. By this time most of were contemplating leaving as the noise was too much to bear. It is not as if we could have a nice chat while waiting. When you have to wait that long for food you want it to be sensational. It was not. We could not wait to get out of there. There are now 13 extremely annoyed guests who will never go back and will never recommend this restaurant to another. I want to say it was disappointing but it was much worse than that. If I could give no stars I would. I am really struggling to reconcile our experience with all the 4*+ reviews. I did put my complaint in an email to the owner 3+ weeks ago but they never responded. I say avoid this restaurant...

Sadly , I have to write a review that I didn't want to write as this was one of the only restaurants in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane that I liked to dine in ...Sadly no more. Up front ...the food is great! BUT I was over charged for wine they did not pour for me . I pointed out the mistake in the bill and they took a very defensive view. The head waitress came over after I pointed out the number of wines they supposedly poured for me and she addressed me with "Is there a problem?" Looks like and felt like she was ready for combat. I pointed out that they did not pour the number of glasses they claimed...and she went away and returned armed with ...."we can check the video camera!" Now i didn't know I was being filmed or my drinking habits noted in such a way. I felt like asking her to do so .

She then asked me if she could reduce the cost by just charging me for a bottle of wine . ....but she didn't actually to that , She charged me for 5 glasses at $18 per glass. !!! I was very aware of the price as I knew I didn't want a bottle and drinking single glasses was cheaper.I knew at most I would have 3 with my meal. . Instead she wanted to go to battle with me and told me "I am a human too and I don't like being spoken to like this " Well Madam I am a customer and I don't like being accused of lying nor do I like being accused of being unreasonable . I am not shy of paying and I am not shy of tipping . Being called out in front of the whole room was embarrassing and this was all down to you and your unfriendly agressive attitude.

I wont be back . I suggest that the owner change his Maitre D as he /she has just lost a customer who dropped $342 for 2 people who shared starters and deserts but got ripped off for drinks .

At this stage whether I was right or wrong is 100% irrelevant ...being treated like some kind of scam artist is NOT acceptable

As a note , in their attempts to be attentive I had at least 4 waiters and waitresses pouring water and wine and even giving me an extra slice of bread ( they charged for the bread) ....I wonder if there is any chance between all of them they made a mistake??? If this is the case the senior waitress was not going to admit it ....Human and all as she...

Yesterday we went to Boucher French Bistro! On average, we’d rate it around a 3.5. The food was generally good, but considering the prices and the fact that it’s a French specialty restaurant, we were expecting a bit more. For the entrĂ©e, we had the beetroot, horseradish and dill cured salmon with grilled polenta. The polenta was amazing : I loved it! The sauce around it, however, lacked flavour. Presentation-wise, though, it was excellent (as you can see 😄). For the main, I had the Angus beef, which I really enjoyed. Everything on the plate was delicious, yes, even though I had it well done, which many people would judge me for 😂. I’d give the flavour a 5, but I expected a bit more from the veggies on the plate considering the price. I also ordered the honey salad, which was good, nicely seasoned. My partner had the bouillabaisse and said he loved the sauce and really appreciated the dish overall, but the scallops and prawns were slightly overcooked, which brought the experience down a bit for us. We shared the Lindt chocolate soufflĂ© for dessert, and that was a win! The ice cream came with some crumble at the bottom, and the melting chocolate on top was absolutely delicious. Definitely worth trying! Now, about the staff, we had read reviews beforehand, and there were quite a few complaints about service. But honestly, we had a great experience. Most of the staff seemed young, but they were supportive, attentive, quick with our orders, kept our drinks filled, and did their job really well. They’re not the super chatty, coffee-shop-style staff, but they were friendly and professional, totally fitting for the environment. So I don’t understand the low ratings on that. Parking was easy. The atmosphere was nice — a bit dark (but that seems to be a French restaurant thing? Haha no real complaints there). I was just in a slightly unstable chair 😅. Overall, it’s a nice spot!

Came here recently and ordered the escargot, pate de Champagne, Moreton bay bugs with prawns bisque, the seared foie gras, the confit of duck, Wagyu rump, soufflé and the apple tarte. Of all the dishes, the Morton Bay bugs were probably the one that stood out the most and the soufflé was very good. Everything else was okay but nothing that stood out as amazing. The duck was a bit dry, the foie gras didn't have the strong fragrance and aroma that one would expect from it, the escargot I felt was nothing ordinary. Table service was decent but personally I found being given only the drinks menu and only the food menu after you have ordered drinks was a bit awkward since I don't really drink alcohol and the drinks menu didn't have any non-alcoholic options. The toilet was a little dirty and had a strong arid smell. Price-wise, it was about $140 pp. Towards the end of the dinner, we were asked to move tables as they had booked our table for another group while we were waiting for dessert. There were other tables that seemed available so we thought asking us to move a bit strange...
