I have always loved shopping in Carindale and the customer service has been great but I was most disappointed with my experience yesterday. I had accidentally left my GoCard in the ladies toilets and realised this 15 minutes after I left Carindale. I rang and the lady kindly went and checked the toilets but couldn’t find it. I had seen the cleaner enter the toilets on my way out and told the lady this. She said she would check with the cleaners and ring me back. The lady rang me back later in the day to let me know that a GoCard had been found and I was very happy to hear this. I told her I could come and pick it up but she said she had to check with her boss as my GoCard was not registered and I obviously could not remember the lengthy number. It was an old card but I had just topped it up with $50 which was the only reason I was chasing it up. I told her this. The lady said she would get back to me but I never heard back from her. I rang back the following day only to be told the card had been sent to TransLink. No one had bothered to ring me to tell me this. Lost GoCards that aren’t registered go to an office in Melbourne so they can’t be traced and the money cannot be reimbursed if the card isn’t registered. This was why I had called in the first place. This was a most disappointing experience as it was the only GoCard found that day and I was the only one to ring about it. I was told by the manager that this was their policy when GoCards are handed in. However I think given the circumstances of this being the only card found, and me being the only one who rang, they could’ve handed the card back to me. This policy needs to be revisited to allow for exceptions like this. Sadly a very...
Read moreThis review is specifically relating to the Santa photos happening on the first floor. I understand that these are businesses and not a service but this setup was remarkably predatory and toxic. There are no walk-ins, but there’s no signage to indicate this (we triple checked after). We waited in the queue and nobody bothered to check if we had a reservation until we had gotten all the way to the front (about 15 minutes). By this point our 5yo was absolutely elated at the thought of seeing Santa. Then the employee asked for our name and when we said we hadn’t purchased admission yet she said we needed to scan the QR code out front. The QR code in question was far to the side of the entrance and TINY. Even tinier was the text next to it that said “Please make a reservation” (again, nothing saying that a reservation was mandatory, but even if it had, the text was super small and easy to miss).
Our child is now SOBBING because the next available appointment isn’t for another 3 hours. Thankfully we had a flexible enough schedule for the day that we didn’t need to break our child’s heart due to toxic capitalism.
I’m not just here to complain, I’m here to offer solutions.
A) Allow walk-ins, your main demographic is small children, your current set up appears intended to make them sad so their parents feel trapped. B) Failing that basic decency, at least make it abundantly clear that reservations are required at...
Read moreWestfield Carindale is missing something—something flame-grilled, delicious, and undeniably Aussie. A Hungry Jack’s in the food court wouldn’t just be a great addition; it’s practically a necessity.
For starters, variety matters. While the food court offers solid burger options, none of them replicate Hungry Jack’s signature flame-grilled taste. A Whopper isn’t just another burger—it’s a staple, and shoppers deserve the choice.
Then there’s the sheer popularity of Hungry Jack’s. It’s one of Australia’s most iconic fast-food chains, meaning instant recognition and guaranteed foot traffic. Whether it’s lunch, a quick bite between stores, or a late-night craving after a movie, Hungry Jack’s delivers.
Affordability is another key factor. Fast food is all about value, and Hungry Jack’s consistently offers budget-friendly deals. A Stunner Meal, for example, would be a game-changer for students and families looking for a quality meal without overspending.
And let’s talk about convenience. Right now, anyone craving Hungry Jack’s has to leave the shopping centre to find one. Why should shoppers go out of their way when a simple addition to the food court could keep them inside, spending more time (and money) in the mall?
Westfield Carindale is already a top-tier shopping destination—but without Hungry Jack’s, the food court feels incomplete. It’s time to fix...
