If you’re in Cairns or thinking of going to Cairns I would highly recommend this on your to do list. The owner John was super informational and talkative about the museum pieces in his collection and allowed us to see and even hold a bunch of different items in the museum which was extremely nice of him and it was definitely a pleasant surprise and a great photo op. If you’re into Japanese history, or history in general or just love the Samurai, I would definitely recommend this for you. It consists of authentic original items like swords, armour, art work and much more from centuries ago with detailed descriptions and I’m sure if you have more questions to ask, John would love to give you more detail into the items if you ask as he is very passionate with his collection. Truly a hidden gem, an easy to miss hole in the wall that’s filled to the brim with historical pre-modern Japanese weapons, art, armour, paintings and so much more, most artefacts have a description next to them, making learning about each individual item that much easier and accessible, the owner is a top bloke too, I was allowed to handle one of the items with his permission and even got a photograph with it!
