MY ADVICE DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THE BLUE DOLPHIN CARAVAN PARK - we were staying there and I was verbally abused by the Manager named Barry on Saturday 22nd August 2020. I was taking the dog for a walk after watching my AFL team Western Bulldogs win, as I knew Barry was an avid Bulldogs fan I called into the office which was unattended and called out to him saying “are you there Barry”, he came into the office and yelled “what” I said “ you must be happy with your team’ he responded as he was walking to the back of the office yelling at me with “is that all you fkn want - I am watching it now and am only up to the third quarter” I said “it was a good game” he once again yelled “just F off will you get out of here”. I was quite shocked to be spoken to in that aggressive manner and was very upset. I went for a walk and on the way back stopped to talk to people who were booking into the park they had been abused in the same manner for interrupting his football game. Later I confronted him because of his aggressive outburst – he said it was because I interrupted his football game, and to his credit shook my hand and apologised. I told him I would accept his apology but I will still be making a formal complaint out his unacceptable behaviour. I have since read the reviews on the park and obviously by the reviews this behaviour is common place here at this park which is a shame as it is in a prime position even though it is run down and needs a lot of work the amenities were clean. I have formalised my concerns to the WA Tourism and Shark Bay...
Read moreWe stayed at the park from 28/12- 7/1 2013.
Our experience was a mixed one. The people who stayed at the park could not have been nicer, all very considerate and helpful. The campsite and grounds was kept clean with the bins changed daily. The location in Denham was good with easy walking distance to shops and the beach.
Unfortunately the park backs onto the car park at the back of a hotel. There is a retaining wall and then a very low shade cloth fence. Our campsite was the most open to the hotels access road to the car park and this allowed strangers to gain access to the campsite by climbing over the fence. This made us feel very vulnerable for our safety as well as our belongings. We had asked on our arrival if there were any other sites to be told they were fully booked. Sadly there was a bad fight at the Hotel at the time of our stay, I would have liked for the owners to have come and seen us to see if we were happy to stay where we are and maybe move us as other camp sites as they had become available. The outdoor kitchen was very basic and not maintained well; it is old and needs updating. The toilets and showers were cleaned daily and whilst clean the ablution block...
Read moredont stay here. owners are very rude, me and my friend were leaving to go to the shops and got an angry lady who didn’t introduce herself at first asking where we we’re staying and of course i said why because i did not know who she was at all, she kept asking the question and then accused us of being backpackers using the showers, may i add we were carrying nothing and had dry hair.. so not sure why it looked like we came from the shower. she continued to ask who we were and asking for our personal information which we did give in the end and our building number, only for her to then say it didnt exist, an hour later we had her husband barry come up to us and say we said something we absolutely didnt say and accusing us of being rude to his wife, but we were not. we are nice friendly people just confused as to why we were randomly asked, by a stranger at the time, where we were currently staying. outraged to say the least, will not be coming back. go to the caravan park the other side of shark bay for a much more pleasant experience, much...
