I liked the atmosphere with plenty of tables and view of the ocean.
Had the burger with chips special. The salad was lettuce and tomato only so go elsewhere if you want 'the lot'. The tomato was the absolute minimum for coverage and was cut to millimetre thinness. The lettuce was iceberg lettuce was in big chunks and felt somehow cheap. The meat patty was a bit on the rubbery side. I tried hard to enjoy it but somehow felt like I had paid a fair bit ($20) but somehow got something that was produced with the smallest cost possible. The chips were fine, though not very many of them (about 15 of them I think). Afterwards my stomach felt a bit heavy and uncomfortable.
I really wanted to enjoy this burger, but it was for me a disappointment.
I get that it's hard to make a profit with so many expenses, but I do wish the was a little more generosity in the salad content.
Was going to sit outside, but all the tables had crumbs on them, which I know can happen if staff are busy.
Staff were polite enough and quite...
Read moreWriting this review in regards to the takeaway Fish and chips, not too sure of the dine in stuff but if you're grabbing takeaway then I'd steer clear. To be honest, I've had better fish and chips from a servo... I got a fisherman's basket and the mrs got salt and pepper squid. My basket had the usual stuff in it but all of it was the cheap, mass processed stuff and nothing of what you would expect from a town based on the coast. Talking the triangle shaped battered microwave fish you get at the supermarket type stuff. Was not great. The salt and pepper squid was the same. Not fresh made, straight out of a packet and into the fryer and it tasted average to say the least. The chips were nice though and the kids got nugget meals which were generous to the point they couldn't finish them. Was just a shame that the seafood side of things was so bad. Made me crook in the end and I couldn't keep it down. Would not recommend for takeaway...
Read moreI called at Shark Bay Cafe just before 2pm and ordered a toasted sandwich. I was asked sort do you want on it and I said cheese and tomato and was told we only have chicken cheese & mayo or bacon and egg. I went for chicken cheese & mayo. The toasted sandwich had already made and taken out of a food warmer. It was $4 and I thought it was cheap but took it outside to eat. It was terrible. The bread was very stale and hard and the taste was horrible. I assume it was made at least 24 hours before. After only 1 bite I took it back and said this sandwich was inedible, it is hard and stale. The response I got was, “that’s why it was $4.” No refunds provided, no apologies provided. I binned the sandwich and will never buy anything from the Shark Bay Cafe again. I would not recommend this cafe if I...
