My visit to the Shark Bay Discovery Centre was transformed into an unforgettable experience, thanks to the stunning exhibition of aerial photography by ND5. This collection offers a unique perspective of Shark Bay that is both breathtaking and inspiring, making it a must-see for both photography enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. The ND5 exhibition showcases a series of aerial photographs that capture the essence and beauty of Shark Bay from above. Each photograph tells a story, inviting viewers on a visual journey through the diverse landscapes and vibrant colors that define this remarkable region. The quality of the photography is exceptional, with attention to detail and composition that truly highlights the skill and artistry of the photographers. What made the experience even more enriching was the informative context provided alongside the photographs. Learning about the locations, wildlife, and ecological significance of the areas captured in the images added a layer of appreciation and understanding to what I was viewing. It's clear that the exhibition was curated with both passion and expertise. The Shark Bay Discovery Centre has done an incredible job of presenting this exhibition, creating a space that is both welcoming and engaging. I left the Discovery Centre feeling inspired and awestruck by the natural beauty of the world we live in, as seen through the lens of the ND5 photographers. This exhibition is a testament to the power of photography to capture and convey the majesty of nature, and I cannot recommend it highly enough. A well-deserved 5-star experience that should not be missed by anyone visiting Shark Bay.

We came by here since it was raining. We did stop by before to get some information regarding what sights to see but came back to do the Discovery Center. There are a few souvenirs in the shop too. They also have information regarding the status of the Francois Peron National Park. There is a small gallery on the left of the entrance which is free to enter and does have quite a few spectacular photographs of the area. There was also a 3D movie "Fire on the Water" about the HMAS Sydney which was sad and informative. It ran every 30 minutes so you can easily wait for the next screening. The Discovery Center costs $11 for adults and $6 for children but it is a multiday pass so you are able to come back in at a later day, just show your receipt. I quite enjoyed it since it was almost like a museum about the history of the area. It was split up into different segments based on the area. It was nice strolling around and looking at the different things inside, particularly the animal stuff. They also did have movies going so if you had time you can sit and watch them all. It is a useful place to stop, whether you're looking for information or wanting to spend some time looking around the displays.

Got such got helo and info from one of the ladies, Rosie, behind the information desk. We asked for activities to do in Denham, Shark Bay and Monkey Mia when we walked in there at 10.30am. She informed us that most marine wildlife tours had left by then but she was able to give us excellent flyers of scenic flights above Shark Bay & sundown boating tours at Monkey Mia. She successfully booked in the cheapest scenic flight of 120 AUD per person for 20min at 12pm (excellent experience for those, like us, who don't have a 4WD but still want to see Francois Peron National Park) and the Sundown boat tour at 4.45pm for 49 AUD. She was able to give us correct info on the availability of kayak hiring at Monkey Mia and the closing of actual kayak tours during the weekend (it was a Saturday). We came in all confused about things to do and walked out with a plan. And let me tell you it was quite the day! Bit more expensive but we didn't miss a thing from Shark Bay!

We only had the time to visit the Information desk due to our late arrival after a long day's travelling on January 8 2021. We required information on what we were wanting to do. I always visit Visitor's Centres as the personalised interaction with those who know what they are talking about gives a more authentic view than google. This was evidenced in the interacton we had with Mahana who was exceptional in understanding our personal needs, being extremely objective in helping us make our choices. Her patience and time spent with us at the end of no doubt a long day for her was a delight. When seeking some help another staff member came in to help and I noticed that Mahana asked the staff member a question, the answer to which Mahana was unsure of as it was a computer code I think in relation to which boat was going to be used. The other staff member made the remark, "That's just the way it is. I am 100%sure", as stated in relation to the boat size. Mahana insisted on going a step further in order to give us the correct information and found that the information given by the other staff member was in fact incorrect. I am writing this as it was not good to see a more mature staff member believe that she was definitely right. Yes, listen to youth. A big shout out...
