Ok, we have all had thai food before. And it's usually good, right? But turns out there's thai food and then there's Thai Days...
Thai days is a whole different category of thai food. It's more like a journey for your taste buds and for your senses. We have been getting takeaway from here for years and it was always good but we finally decided to go in and have a meal and all I can say is WOW! The eat in menu is so much more extensive and the flavour is next level. Hubby and I enjoyed a large array of dishes and each dish was spectacular...we genuinely ALMOST couldn't choose a favourite....almost. [see tips below]
We took the kids today...well..dragged them there. Not quite kicking and screaming but they wanted burgers and chips 🤦♀️ and they claimed that they have had thai plenty of times and didn't "feel like it". By the end of the meal, I re-asked them the question "so do you like thai food?" My sons response? "It's ok....but this isn't thai food....it's Thai Days! And that's completely different!" He also said it was the best feed he's had in 3 years which was both a triumphant "i told you so" moment followed immediately by a "hey! What are you saying about my cooking?" Moment. 🤔
Tips: If you want to do a dinner seating, book WAY ahead....and I mean WAY. Like 2 weeks ahead..especially if you have more than 4 ppl. If you are desperate to eat in and can't get a dinner book, try for lunch...way more availability and still the same menu and great flavours.
Order the Pork Belly chilli jam. Trust me...just do it! You won't regret it! And you will never look at pork belly the same way again!
The thai milk tea is AH-mazing! So unless you are diabetic, do yourself a favour and order it [it is very sweet...but delicious!]
If you have to get takeaway (because you can't get a babysitter or are stuck home with covid) make sure you order EARLY. Even takeaway from Thai Days esp Fri - Sun nights are extremely busy and waits can be up to 1 hr of more. Sometimes they even book out the takeaway slots.
If you enjoy dessert, their roti pandan custard is a must! Very similar flavour profile to the pandan roti at Golden Boy.
So do yourself a favour and go try it! Or maybe don't....cos I realise I have now possibly made it even harder to get myself a dinner booking by writing...

I do not know what's happened in the last few weeks in this establishment. My wife and I have eaten here on several occasions in the past and the food AND the service have been excellent. However...we went a few weeks ago and we could have been forgiven for thinking that we were in a different place. Four of us were shown to our table and....that's where the courtesy and service ended. We waited a good 15 to 20 minutes for anyone to come over and ask us if we would like to order drinks....in fact we had to ask a member of staff who was cleaning the table next to us if we could get drinks. Then a trainee (by far the best and politest member of staff) came over to take our order whilst the other regular members of staff stood hanging out around the bar area. There's no denying that the food was excellent again....but the staff serving it have become inattentive, uncaring and sloppy. In fact...not only that but when my wife asked if there were new owners to ascertain why the standards have changed, she actually received attitude from a male member of staff who had the cheek to ask why she was asking the question. Then he became passive aggressive and patronising whilst other members of staff just stood there and looked on. Is this young person a supervisor? If he paid more attention to service and customer care rather than his appearance...we would have been back to normal at Thai Days. I'm afraid we wont be eating there again and will not be encouraging friends to dine there also.......despite the good food. I reckon, given the attitude of this particular individual towards my wife, the name should be changed to Thai Dyes.....because it service and pleasantness have certainly passed away at this place. Next time....we'll go down to Victor and get a maccas if we want attitude. PS...don't piss...
Read moreI recently dined at THAi DAYS, and I must say, it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. As a lover of Thai cuisine, I have visited numerous Thai restaurants in SA, but this one truly stands out as the best.
Ambience: The moment you step inside, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is beautiful and a cozy, intimate setting. The soft lighting and traditional music in the background create a perfect dining environment.
Service: The staff, especially TJ was exceptional. They are friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about providing an excellent dining experience. TJ was knowledgeable about the menu and made fantastic recommendations based on our preferences.
Food: The highlight of our visit was, of course, the food. Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece of flavour and presentation. We started with the Tom Yum soup, which was a perfect balance of spicy, sour, and savoury. The Pad Thai was the best I've ever had – the noodles were perfectly cooked, and the sauce was a harmonious blend of sweet and tangy.
The Green Curry with Chicken was another standout dish. The curry was rich and creamy, with just the right amount of heat, and the chicken was tender and succulent. We also tried the Sticky Rice with ice cream for dessert, which was an absolute delight – the sticky rice was perfectly cooked with a hint of coconut.
Value: Considering the quality of the food and the overall experience, THAi DAYS offers excellent value for money. The portions are generous, and the prices are very reasonable for the high standard of cuisine...
