Only staying here for medical reasons...waiting on operation in Coffs Harbour and specialist appointments in Grafton. This use to be a good place to stay once but now we would NOT recommend it to anyone. The so called clean toilets and showers are disgusting and only get a quick clean when there is a complaint lodged AND if you are lucky to get toilet paper it's a bonus. There is a blind eye turned when it comes to drug dealing here...used syringes were found by children in the ladies toilets not to mention boxes of them on the grounds...The lawns do get mowed but only when the markets or speed way comes. The health dept. would have a field day here...having the food and coffee stall right next to the dump site...it's not good. The show society and the care takers should clean up their act and make this a nice clean friendly place like it use to be..maybe they don't want campers here anymore, it sure seems that way with the black name the Grafton Show Ground...
Read moreNot what we expected. Website for this Showground states $20 for Showground members per night which we are and $25 per night for non members. When we spoke to the caretaker when we could find him, we were told not to take any notice of the website and the price for members was $23.00 a night. Suggested that he should get the website updated. His attitude wasn't what it should have been and the normal fee hasn't been increased as we checked with another caravaner, still $25 per night. We have opted to leave and go to a caravan park that has friendly managers and the cost per night is $3 more a night than we are paying here. I am glad we were self-contained as the amenities certainly needed to be cleaned daily as there are approximately 5 other persons staying here and I am sure they are here longer than the 21 days as stated on the website. Where we are going is also going to be more...
Read moreThe grounds were OKAY. The caretaker wasn't the friendliest and seemed to have friends coming in and out of the grounds, and others helping him repair some vehicles onsite. It's along the main road and traffic noise is quite loud throughout the night. Bathrooms were not very tidy when we were there, luckily another camper showed us to better bathrooms/showers near the boxing gym. Pets are allowed, and we had a very negative experience with the campers next to us and their two dogs. Would not stay here again and would not recommend...
