Flame Trees Cafe & Cakery — Restaurant in New South Wales

Ordered a 7 inch white mud cake, paid good money for it expecting something spectacular for my husband’s 50th. Received a mediocre product, missing things that I requested in addition to my picture, and was very poorly presented in some areas. Addressed this as feedback, & was told I never asked for those things, yet she read them out as she wrote it down! I was blamed for the rough, damaged parts of the cake as it was “perfect, when in their care”. Implied response, and no accountability or offer to compensate. (None was asked for) but as a business ? Customer service? None! Discovered it was then awfully dry and had limited taste, like it had been frozen for well too long. Bland and embarrassing! Horrible to eat and was thrown in the bin ($145). Will not be going back, poor quality and poor service. Was ignored by staff when I walked In also. I"m this to say an enormous thank you to Jo & Amy and the staff at Flame Trees . My issue all started on Sat 26th April about 11upon picking up a 70th birthday cake .i couldn't believe my eyes what was presented to us. After discussions with the Baker options to "fix it" the cake was "accidently" dropped by him . We left the store and a kind lady stopped us and asked what was wrong ,after filling her in she said cross the road & down a bit you will find Flame Trees cafe ,if anyone can help they can .We entered the cafe around midday clearly upset and spoke to Amy who calmed us down .after calling her Mum in from a day off she said she can organise something for us and even delivered the cake to the Crown for us that afternoon. They may be a tad more expensive but your money well spent . A qualified cake decorator,the most helpful,caring people and the cake was just perfect and had our edible photo on top. . I got the vegetarian breakfast and although it technically delivered all the listed components the end result was rather disappointing - a single piece of white bread toast , not even half an avocado and the saddest piece of haloumi I've ever seen all contributed to a rather regretful and resentful breakfast - like, I can't believe I actually paid nearly $30 for this (due to Sunday surcharge)

Staff were however quite friendly and the atmosphere comfortable. Everything was prepared quickly in a clean looking kitchen. If the servings were a little more generous, with quality ingredients and presented nicely this place...
