A head-turning sight on Prince Street is the heritage-listed Saraton Theatre, the largest combined cinema and performing arts theatre in Australia. The exterior dates to 1926, but the interior and the prevailing Art Deco style is from a luxurious remodelling that was ready in 1940. The 950-seat main auditorium is a sumptuous venue to watch new Hollywood release, or catch a classical concert, live gig, play, dance performance or comedy show. The Saraton is also used for conventions and community performances, and the complex has two new cinemas each with stadium seating for 150.

From Brisbane to this small town is completely different. But it’s more quiet and no traffic 👌🏽👌🏽 only stress is that I couldn’t find much to do during my stay. Place needs a bit of improvement in terms of the appearance of the place. Didn’t feel very welcoming other than the guy that was at the counter 😅 hi. A few dining places within walking distance nearby to grab a bite from and there’s also a clock tower on the roundabout just outside! Pretty cool to look at.

3 Theatres all refitted with state of the art projectors and sound.

Theatre one. Main theatre. This is the biggest theatre and the original theatre which still retains the look of a retro theatre building with beautiful wall and roof decor. Full capacity is near 600 on the ground floor and the top floor can be opened with another 200+ seats If your wanting the old Jaffa rolling experience this is the theatre for you.

This theatre is also equiped with a sizeable stage area and small offstage sections both side. It's certainly turning into the live performance venue.

Theatre two and three More the modern take on theatres with a stepped seating section to the screen within the more pleasing visual range. Seats here are certainly comfortable and make the difference for a good movie experience. Seating ?200 each

The sound system here is a 7.1 sound system and is certainly crisp and makes for a audiophiles experience that much better. The projectors are all 2k with easy updates to 4K avalaible running digital movies means you don't get issues with bad film and the releases are also quicker.

Candy Bar is well stocked with favourite treats and the hand made choctops are something you have to try.

Great location and close by to other business for before and after...

i had to pay extra. so i'm just 11 (yr 6) and i was with a group of my friends from school, and one girls older sister (20) we all went to buy tickets (we bought them separately) and all my friends only had to pay for a child ticket because they were ( we were all between the ages of 9-12, except the older sister) then i looked at my ticket, it said it was for student\concess (high school students) i didn't think anything of it at first, then i realised my total price of everything i had bought (just a ticket and a drink) i had to pay extra for my ticket compared to all of my friends, including one friend who is 12. just because i'm tall, doesn't...

Have been going to this Art Deco movie theater for nearly 5 years. The staff are friendly and keep this place clean as a home. The owners are based in Sydney and send the latest movies before any other theaters get them. The seating are comfortable with good legroom. The toilets are always clean and pleasantly fragenced. The rear exit saves time accessing the huge car park in the rear with plenty of parking all year. They give seniors discount and have deals for seniors for snack foods, freshly made coffee and tea and the choc top cones are very tasty with a great range of flavors. They also offer a family ticket at a...
