I recently had the pleasure of arranging a 10-person sit-down meal to celebrate my partner's 40th birthday with Herman's Private Chef Services, and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience. From the initial contact to the final moments of the evening, Herman made it a truly memorable celebration.

I reached out to Herman about two months before the big day, and right from the start, he was incredibly helpful and accommodating when discussing our options. After much deliberation, we decided to go with canapés, entrées, and mains, all expertly prepared by Herman, while I supplied the cake and cheese platters. The entire process of working through the details with Herman was so easy and smooth that I found myself wondering if it was almost too good to be true.

On the night of the celebration, Herman arrived right on time and provided an exceptional experience that left all our guests delighted. It's worth noting that we had a few dietary requirements that needed to be catered for, and Herman handled them without a hitch. His attention to detail and dedication to meeting our needs were truly impressive.

What set this experience apart and exceeded our expectations was that Herman went above and beyond the agreed scope of his services. He took the initiative to set out and arrange the cheese platters, relieving me of any additional stress and allowing me to fully relax and enjoy the celebration.

I am writing this review on behalf of my family in Perth, for whom Herman arranged a beautiful evening.

My parents could not be happier with how professional and punctual Herman was. His food was on par with a restaurant fine dining degustation with excellent quality local ingredients, with plating to match. He went above and beyond with the small touches such as making small side plates of food for my 4 year old nephew in addition to the degustation itself.

They loved how easy going he was, and enjoyed the fact he was comfortable in their kitchen, which in turn allowed them to feel at home enjoying their dinner. Other than using a bit of freezer space and the stove top, he was not intrusive at all, including tidying up the kitchen after himself. Value for money 10/10.

Phenomenal. Whenever a question is posed for a private chef, Herman is one of the recommendations.

Drawing his experience from an international repertoire, Herman has worked locally at well regarded institutions including Rockpool, the Richardson (before it closed) and Varnish on King.

Always responsive. Caters for dietary requirements. He recently prepared an amazing evening of gluten free degustation. His execution is excellent. And he cleans up so there’s nothing to do at the end but put the wine glasses in the dishwasher.
