Re fresh produce: overpriced and very poor quality compared to nearby Woolworths & Aldi and even Coles in Berwick Village. For example, Mandarins were priced at $4.90 and were obviously from last year’s crop or maybe even earlier. An “I’m perfect” bag of apples had approximately 75% of the apples pecked by birds and 50% of the bites had already started to rot. Zucchinis are so crinkly, often mouldy that they are only fit for the compost bin. Packets of mixed vegetables for a salad or stir fry have already started to discolour and are no longer crisp. I find it incredible to believe that potatoes purchased on April 27 have a “Best Before” date of April 29. In addition, Sneaky tactics are often used. For example, Brown Nashi Pears were priced at $2.20 each whereas all other pears were priced per kilo. Cost for 4 pears was $8.80 for 858 grams, of which I was unaware until I checked the docket, 10 hours later. Prices below Mango boxes do not always match the variety of mangoes. Consequently, a customer unknowingly ends with more expensive fruit than expected. And so on...
Read moreDisappointed today with staff member calling police on a group of kids who were outside playing/exercising (not at Coles) the kids were in an empty park where there was a gazebo. They were not doing anything wrong, they were not loud and they did not go into Coles in a big group. There was no need for the staff member to cause such distress to these kids. Your staff member was outside just watching the kids from a far and called police with false allegations. The stress your staff put on these kids for doing nothing wrong is disgraceful. I know some of those parents and we will not be entering your store again due to...
Read moreColes Parkhill is a great place to shop, having just about everything you need. Their fresh produce is very good and reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and helpful also. The only problem my daughter and I have is the the way everything is set out. We much prefer the way Coles Berwick Central is set out, it is set out how you would expect things to be. Although I will mention that Coles Eden Rise has the worst set, but we love to go there late at night because they usually close around midnight. My daughter and I would love it if all supermarkets were 24 hours but we can't see that happening...
