Chum Chum's restaurant has been a favorite spot of mine for quite some time now. However, I must say that recently, I've noticed a decline in the quality of their food, particularly with their chicken submarine. In the past, it used to come with a side of French fries, but now they are served separately, incurring an additional cost. This change gives the impression that the focus has shifted from providing top-notch quality to emphasizing quantity and cost-cutting.

As a loyal customer who used to order food online since the restaurant's opening, I can't help but feel disappointed by this shift in approach. The charm that once drew me to Chum seems to be fading, and I'm left questioning whether the value I used to receive is still present. While I understand that businesses need to adapt and make changes, compromising on the core aspects that made the restaurant special may not be the best decision.

I hope that Chum's management takes customer feedback seriously and considers revisiting their recent changes. But wait, there’s more! On Saturdays, they have an unlimited hoppers buffet for just $22.50! Yes, you heard that right—unlimited hoppers! 🥞 These crispy, bowl-shaped pancakes are served with a variety of accompaniments, making it an absolute treat.

We couldn’t resist trying their Kothu Parotta (chopped Parotta stir-fried with chicken) and the fried whole fish, and it didn’t disappoint. The Kothu was bursting with flavor, while the fish was cooked to perfection. My heart (and stomach) were full after that meal. ❤️

The chicken curry from the buffet was a personal favorite. It brought back memories of home-cooked meals, just like how my mom makes it—comfort food at its finest. They’ve also got a fully stocked bar now, so you can enjoy your meal with your favorite drink.

So I arrived here for some good Sri Lankan food as it was recommended by a few mates. I ordered Kotthu (seafood), my partner ordered a roast chicken Kotthu. I later ordered a chicken submerine.

The seafood Kotthu was abit too much of a taste of seafood as if there was too much seafood marinara but there was an ample amount of seafood in it. (Rotti tasted abit old)

The roast chicken Kotthu on the other hand, tasted great! There was some chicken curry on the side and there was an appropriate amount of flavour with the rotti. There was chilli paste on the table along with a water jug.

The chicken submerine was tasty, not dry and the bun was crisp. Tasted good.

Ordering process was pretty straightforward, saw about 4-5 employees. We took menus and went to the counter to order. There was one girl at the counter to take the order and serve us. The seating is subpar as it wasn't the most comfortable. The seating layout was alright at well based on the size of the restaurant. There was two large seating areas and four, double seat tables.

Service was efficient, the atmosphere is not bad, there was a substantial amount of appropriate cultural Deco and standard background music that wasn't too loud.
