Returned a loaf of Noisette bread on 14 April. It was hollow. I could have put my fist into it. The ageing hippy behind the counter asked me ‘What do you expect me to do?’ I said you could refund me the money. (It was actually the second loaf I had purchased with big air gaps of no bread.) His response/s “you’ve cut into it” and “you’ve eaten half of it!” The shape of the bread is such that it has two very pointy ends which are crusts one wouldn’t toast. It is not a large loaf. His second response was laughable - you already cut it! Well duh; that’s what one does when about to partake of a sandwich or toast. I wouldn’t have seen the massive gap in the loaf without cutting it. The point of report is that this supermarket is a family business and one would think, particularly in these virus times, they would value ones customers.
