Lalor Shops is an outdoor shopping centre with shops/stores located along a small street called May Road where shops continue around onto the other side of Station Street adjacent to the train tracks. It is located between Thomastown train station and Lalor train station.
I’ve been going here since I was a kid with my mum and continue to do my weekly grocery hall here. It has always been a very busy place as everything you need is here. From fruit shops to variety shops, fast food restaurants like Rooster Rock charcoal chicken to restaurants like Vinh Long Vietnamese cuisine. There’s a couple of bakeries, salons, butchers, pharmacies, medical centres, cafes and tobacconists. Then there’s main stores like Coles Supermarket, Australia Post Office and the local Lalor Library, and Woolworths is just across the train tracks. You can even find accountants, mechanics, tatts lotto and a martial arts studio. The one thing they don’t have is a bank, there used to be a Commonwealth Bank, now theres a couple ATMs and I think everyone’s used to going to the post office or Coles to get cash out.

It’s also not the cleanest of places just like a market but it has a close knit community atmosphere. The store owners, staff and even the local regulars become familiar faces. There are shops here that I’ve been going to for over 20 years with the same owners and I hope to continue for many more years. I love...

The Coles Store, Lalor Library, TSG Lalor, Bargain Super Store (May Rd), 2 out 5 fruit & veg shops that have great produce & even better prices & a bakery on Station Street where the best fresh rolls ever are made, daily, each morning. (@ the top end). Out of all of those shops on that shopping precinct ... Those are the better one's & the only Businesses worth looking at if you are in the area. This review is coming from a former resident who once lived &...

The Green grocer options are not as cheap as they used to be and the queue at the cash register is a deterrent to proceed with making a purchase. The cake shop used to be my favourite part of visiting this strip but on this particular afternoon there were barely any of the usual cakes on...
