Afghan Kebab House — Restaurant in Melbourne

I walked in Afghan kebab house with a big smile on my face thinking I was about to eat something out of this world!! I told my lawyer that accompany me to the establishment "Afghan food aye, should go in and see what the hype is about" as i walked in the front door, i was uncomfortable met with a putrid smell of cigarette smoke and rotten pork as I glanced at my lawyer he said to me "this must be a culture thing" and as a proud Indian man from Delhi I can personally assure it isn't like that in our beautiful country. Pondering as I may, I proceed to place an order and no little of my surprise, it took 1 hour and 12 mins for my chicken byrina and rice to arrive at my table after reminding the staff on three different occasions about my order... my lawyer was not impressed it still was cold and I believe their was dead cockroach in the rice but as soon as I saw the roach in my food, the staff quickly acted and snatched the cockroach and said "if you didn't order the cockroach I'd have pay $1.55 more" despite that, I gave the coffee a try and I was appalled WITH THE RESULT!! so I brought it to the attention of the owner and he response was "it is, what it is" so I furiously was leaving the store and on the corner of my eye saw the owners sped son behind the bins grabbing expired food that they throw out.... god only knows how long it was rotting away in the bin but all disability's aside all though his lost in mind I believe his complete in soul, I'm sure he his somebodies spirt animal, it was hard not to notices their no wheel chair ramp for him, he has to crawl into the door without help from any of the staff and owner aka his father. As he was crawling inside he turned back and said "GG get that on clip"

I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS ESTBALISHMENT AGAIN

I really do pray that one day these people are blessed with the presence of god as I have been mortified and now will need to wash myself after that experience..

Worst customer service and rude business owner I have ever seen in my life. Was bullied by the owner infront of other customers. I was a regular customer until today but not anymore. Ordered $52 worth meal and before I could collect my two bags from counter, the oil from takeaway plastic broken container was dripping out and already messed plastic bag. This was when I was still in the shop. All I requested was to change the container (as it was broken) and to warp PROPERLY. The guy on the counter, put cling wrap on tht container which was already broken, n said, I have covered the leak (when there was already oil in the plastic). Ridiculously terrible service. Upon request to change the container OR give a plastic bag, owner came and took the container and thrown it on a side and took $12 out of his draw and said “that’s ur money,” while I never asked for money back, I placed an order for $52, and all I asked for what to use proper container (which is not broken) or give a plastic bag to control the oil leak. Upon which he started yelling and bullied me infront of other customers and said you are wasting my time. I placed an order half an hour in advance and all I asked for was atleast some decency towards females. Firstly they shouldn’t be using broken container, secondly they should use some of the brain / common sense. Rather than wrapping a broken container, why don’t you just change it or give an extra bag, it just cost less then 10 cents which I was happy to pay. I will surely complainting to the council tomorrow about the use of broken containers. During this pandemic, I try to support small business but this is NOT the way to make your sale. Give proper packaging if you are charging, you are NOT giving anything for FREE. And there is no place for bullying. Go back where you came from via boat, Australia doesn’t need...

We have been ordering take away mixed kebab wrap from this place for years. This is the first time I left a review.

During the long Australia Day weekend, we ordered here but there was no wrap so we got rice with kebab instead. Rice was ok and kebab was good but salad on the other hand was not good.

Salad leaves 🍃 in a small container with a wedge of lemon looked a bit sad to me. I picked one up and ate but I was shocked after I saw next when I was going to get some more. The leaf that was gone bad and had mould on it. It's unacceptable and not safe for consumers at all.

Imagine you have to wash them and hand picked them to put in a box, this shouldn't happen. It's unhygienic and unsafe. It could've caused diarrhea or food poisoning or something worse.

I was going to call the restaurant but I thought what's the point. They might not believe me and whay can they do? I wouldn't go back that night just to get a new salad. Well, it's a shame. This has put me...
